Can't stand her...She's way too ditzy for my tastes.

Have you ever been there. There have been many improvements made and you cant beat the atmosphere. I have been to many ball parks, but this is one of my absolute favorites..

Nope. It has history and feeling. Unlike all these mega billion new facilities.

look at O-Town where you have an arena that opened in 1989 about to be replaced. The life span for these HUGE community investments should be a bit longer than two decades.

Some places that are/were dumps (the Orange Bowl comes to mind in my town) have/had such stories histories that antiseptic expensive corporate stadiums/arenas will never replicate.

Fenway is a great example of a dying breed.

    >> I also can't sleep on planes no matter how much booze or dope (prescribed, of course) I down. <<

<<I've flown across the Pacific several times, and I've never slept on a plane. And this was before I became terrified of flying.>>

I love flying (as you know) so it isn't a fear thing. I once thought it was the sitting up position that was the problem. But as I've often traveled in Business or First Class with lie flat seats or even sleeping pods, it still doesn't work for me.

Even coming back from Asia dog tired I was awake the whole flight.

You ever coming back? Waiting to color with Aurora?

<<I imagine I will eventually. First I need to get this lousy feeling of being taken advantage of by the Mouse out of my system. The last trip I felt like he was playing pocket pool with me while wearing white iron clad gloves.>>

That feeling is hard to shake at WDW, but it can be done IF one is willing to rent a car, leave property, maybe even stay off property and not be a prisoner to The Mouse.

BUT maybe I am just on a Disney Magic high right now because for the first time in a long time, the Mouse largely met or even exceeded my expectations (just don't ask about steak quality on Night One!)

<<I would really enjoy going with dshyates on a Aurora coloring spree.>>

Please, please tell me that's code for spray-painting Al Weiss's Celebration home!!!

A responsible redneck? See, Dave, I told ya there were some!

<<Sex ed absolutely does work to a large degree.

    Abstenence is 100% effective. >>

True, but where's the fun in that? I'm not willing to bet there's an afterlife with endless sexual opportunities ... so it seems a shame to waste what you've got!

<<Making kids ignorant and assuming they won't get pregnant or diseases is no answer.

Who in the heck is making them ignorant. I bet most kids today know more about sex than I do. And I've been to the Chicago Club in Tiajuana!>>

Not allowing sex education. Or just 'teaching' (indoctrinating) abstinence makes kids ignorant.

I suppose having the Internet can actually be a good tool for them to use, but that opens up a whole can of evil worms too.

<<(BTW, do you just love how many topics we hit on in a typical Spirited thread?)

It's all over the map. That's what makes them so much fun. It's like a polite World Events.>>

    True.

I don't even recall how this thread started, but it sure is fun.

Disney thought of the day: The Disney Store in Oxford, UK is closed.

    I readily admit it.

I won't even mention the great dinner a pair of good friends took me to tonight, but it involved filet of beef, mushroom wine sauce, sugar snap peas and key lime pie ... and three margaritas!

Yeah, I'm a food whore and damn proud of it.

So, get your arse down here and buy me dinner!

<<*waits for Spirit to rant about how I need to stay onsite...Blah blah blah*>>

    >> I wouldn't say that these days, UNLESS you can get a significant discount. But I DO think a real Disney fan is missing out on part of the immersion if they never stay on-site. <<

<<You definetly need to stay on site at least once. Even though it is definetly expensive/way over priced, It does enhance the experience. It also gives the illusion of spending more intimate time with Mickey, and Company.>>

I have stayed at pretty much every WDW resort. And it certainly is part of the package to me, even though I haven't stayed on prop... well, not true ... I haven't stayed at a WDW owned and operated resort since 2008. The resorts ARE destinations in their own right.

Again, there really are limited amounts of time one can ride Space Mountain, Peter Pan or Star Tours before boredom sets in.

WDW is about so much more than parks.

You are so correct! I love to watch the faces of people that see Fenway for the first time!

Saving hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars for an equal or (sometimes) superior room/resort would be a good one to me.

And I will put my number of on-property nights up there with anyone here.

But I do see less value as prices increase, better options arrive in O-Town and Disney Walmarts further.

You do not give secrets away online.

That's how loopholes tend to get closed!
