It's all Spirits fault. >> Everything is my fault ... from default credit swaps to the rise of Walmart to those 'faulty' intelligence reports that told W Iraq that WMDs to global warming ... you name it, I'm to blame. At least that's what my family and friends say! And really, I go to WDW to bitch about it because it is so much closer than Six Flags.

But I do get why he doesn't waste the time anymore ... and I am getting close to that point myself (think of all the Disney folks who just wet themselves at that prospect). Maybe it's cyclical, but I've read these boards way before i ever posted ... and been a regular here more years than I care to admit and I've never seen this place so dead overall (and no, I don't count WE and Community because those are places you'll never finds me as I am here because of DISNEY). Maybe I just need a magical Disney vacation?

Lotta "what are our guests thinking..." Pooh type pondering going on.

A town-hall meeting I had way back in the day at WDW once explained that they scramble research teams when guests aren't behaving as expected, good bad, or otherwise. In that case, they had way more guests showing up then projected so they had the research teams walking the parking lots typing in license plates to see where guests were coming from and randomly stopping guests to ask them to number of people in their car, etc.. Also got a neat lecture that day about rebounding economics and pent up Disney fandom (this was 2002/2003) and how people had explained in survey they still didn't want to fly but wanted to goto Disney World still. Anywho, I digresss.. Disney is starting to notice something is amiss in their guest patterns.

(Sorry, to lazy to go read back) Since Anaheim's weathered the economic collapse a lot better than Orlando, I doubt there's a great concern about the future ... especially with all the new stuff they have on the horizon. They may be gaging things for another round of AP increases ... or trying to figure out whether to go through with their hotel expansion plan for the area etc ...

Seriously, does anyone really think she can sing or act or is even attractive? < Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like all the actresses under the age of 30 at the Oscars could barely read their lines without stumbling over their words. I understand they were nervous, but geez, they're professional actresses, aren't they? On second thought, maybe they're not.

Our economy has been in freefall since 2007 and isn't getting better in any real sense. Of course, those who have always had money, largely still do. ----------- the recession is affected all blogs in many ways-- for me it is because I am working 14-16 hour days ( many weeks including weekends) to try and keep my job. Just had a friend released after 33 years with the company and told it was because he wasn't willing to put the time in. I have little time for anything any more and my participation here suffers accordingly. Many people out of work and spending their time looking for employment. So I think it is a combination of things - situations like mine - as well as uncertainty about next trips for many people - and just plain focusing on making ends meet more than entertainment. just IMHO
