I have a can of air at my desk I blast my keyboard with. They can borrow it :)

From what I've discovered around the web (and who trusts THAT info?), it appears that Soarin' is done in 70mm OmniMax format, but it's run at 48 frames per second - twice the rate as regular OmniMax. And with this high speed comes quicker than normal wear on the film. There are some rumors floating around about converting this show to an HD format, but nothing official. And it doesn't seem as if there's a digital format or projecter in existence that can handle an OmniMax format.

That would never happen in WDW.. It's EPCOT's biggest people eater.

    What do you mean, "again?"<<

"Duffy" originally appeared on the scene as "The Disney Bear." There was a major marketing push, but the public did not respond. The bears ended up in deep discount, then clearance stores. A few years later, the bear, now renamed Duffy, appeared in Japan, and was a huge hit. So they are trying it again here in the States...

I've heard the term before, in reference to Horizons, but what exactly is OmniMax? Is it just projecting onto the inside of a dome? What do planetariums use these days? It's an interesting concept, and has been around for quite a while, but it does seem a little odd that it still hasn't been adapted to other uses, in these days where random technology seems to be popping up in all sorts of unexpected places.

I'm guessing we have different definitions of 'people eater'. To me, it's an attraction that can handle large crowds and pulls guests through with a high theoretical hourly capacity. Compared to attractions like Spaceship Earth, Ellen's Energy Adventure, and the American Adventure, the capacity of Soarin' is just plain sad. Yes, it usually has the longest waits in the park, but that's just as much a factor of its limited capacity as anything else.

I think you have some of your facts wrong there, Doug. The problem is built into what you said. You said that '"Duffy" originally appeared', but then you go on to say 'now renamed Duffy.'

That's the key point. The original bear wasn't Duffy. For example, Duffy has his name sewn into his label. Take a look at any of the original bears from a few years ago - do their tags say Duffy? I didn't think so.

In fact, I have a Duffy right here next to my computer, and he can see the screen. You've got him a bit upset. I told him that Uncle Doug didn't really mean what he said, and rubbed Duffy's little head. He'll be okay, but asks that you stop spreading rumors that he had anything to do with the previous marketing flop.

    From wikipedia -

"A variation of the IMAX film format that is projected on an angled dome."

I vote for the Parks. You don't have to listen to Trump. Hanging out at the Parks when it's 90 with high humity is insane. That is unless you're a Yankee that just went through and April snow fall, and are reminded about the 6 power outages you experienced this winter when the high for the day was 15.

I really didn't have any issues with the film in December.

Why doesn't the Seas have prettier fish? This isn't a question of mine (another, perhaps also prettier LPer, uttered it today ... of course she had just been at Fish R Us AKA Sea World)... But I wonder why I see more colorful tropical species when I hang out at Port Everglades with my feet hanging over the docks.

You've got Nemo. Quit being so greedy.

You're the only person I know that goes to WDW to count fat people. Do you tag them, and put radio frequency emitters on them so you can track their eatting habbits.

I so agree. I love spending time at Epcot, but it felt lifeless my last 2 visits. I though maybe it was just me because I was sober.
