If it was smoother, it was only slightly so. It's still a pretty jerky ride, especially towards the end. I think the reports that have said "no change" are probably closer than the reports than have said "much smoother ride".

I don't care what you say Spirit, but the new Camero looks better than either of those. I am just waiting for Nissan to jump on the nostalgia bandwagon. I want a retro Z.

And WTF, a Turkey and Meatball Sandwich? EEWWWWW!!!!!!

Oh, Turkey and a meatball sandwich. Nevermind.

That's news to me, but -- if so -- just reeks of stupidity.

I am a very honest Spirit by nature, but cash is something I'd never turn in ... it's one thing if you see someone drop it ... or even someone wandering around frantically in the area talking about losing it when they didn't see you pick anything up.

But there's just no way to track cash. Not to mention, especially in this day and age, anyone can walk into Guest Relations and say 'my little princess Brittany just dropped the $876 we had to get us through the trip and back to West Virginia ... what can Disney do for us?'

If I were Disney, I'd be more concerned about all the merchandise that walks off now that they have stores that never end (like Main Street).

If I were a CM, I wouldn't turn in cash so it could go to whatever 'charities' the Mouse deems fitting.

BTW, why do people insist on throwing money just about anywhere at WDW? Is it a reflex? I'm not talking about fountains?

Anywhere ... queues ... landscaping ...wherever ... they just toss pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters ... is that just a reflex action? You have to give all your money to The Mouse one way or another?

I agree with you on that. I have turned in quite a few things at WDW, including a very expensive camera, but cash ... no. (Unless as you said, I see someone drop it or looking frantically for it. That I HAVE done.)

Yeah, it still does in many areas. Overall, it still felt the most decorated WDW park.

MK looks nice (although the decorations are very tired and adding the Toy Soldiers in Town Square isn't a major deal, although Phil would likely say otherwise) on Main Street ... but once you get beyond, you'd be very hard-pressed to know it was Christmas at all.

    As to this:
    >>I spent 45 minutes blissfully rocking away in front of the fireplace in the Spike Room.<<
<<It is now the Carolwood Room. Didn't you notice all the railroad memorabilia?>>

That stuff has been there for quite a while. I didn't know they renamed the room. It's one of my favorite places to just relax at WDW. Almost enough to get me to buy DVC ... OK, not quite.

The only year I bought a lot of items with dates was Y2K ... if I had known what a disaster the decade was going to be, I might not have.

And while I can see magnets, things like clothes I've never really gotten. Who wants to wear a WDW 2003 tee in 2010? (not that it would last)

I admit I bought a 2008 DL cap at an outlet when I was in Anaheim this fall because I had forgotten to pack one and didn't want to spent $20-30 on a new one ... so I spent $4 and will likely only use the thing if I'm sitting by the pool.

But dated stuff just doesn't last ... hence all the nine cent 2008 WDW and DCL postcards still sitting at my local Disney outlet store (Disney won't throw anything out ... unless it has some value ... like the Eureka parade floats!)

Not really. Maybe a bit. Very hard to tell, which should speak volumes.

It's very disappointing. They did the bare minimum (and when you ride thru on the PeopleMover with the lights on, you can tell just how half-assed it was). It looks better on the inside. And the ride experience is slightly better because it's dark again and the effects in the first tunnel are new. ... But seriously, they did next to nothing. And a decade from now it will be like this.

<<<Sorry, but that new Camaro is UGGGGGGGGLLY>>>
<<And I love the new camaro. Looks like a muscle car from the 80's.>>

I thought the orange one (awful paint job) they had at TT's postshow was just very ugly.

I actually like new Mustang a lot, which is scary as I swore I'd never buy another American car. Not really in the market now, but later this year?

<<<But on Saturday they did have Diamond Horseshoe open as a food location ... can't recall menu other than items like turkey and meatball sandwiches and ceasar salads>>>>

<<You are right. this venue should stay open and they should bring back the stage show here. Our first year we had an ice cream and watched a western show here. It was a great time and we miss it. It has been closed every year since.>>

It's just sad things like that disappear only to save money as it was popular right to the end. It just dminishes the whole MK experience.

And Disney has shuttered so many QSRs that it is maddening that it leaves them closed but opens an attraction as one.

Yeah, you know this Spirit is scraping bottom when that is a topic for discussion.

    But what else is there?

How they get a slap on the wrist for incredible negligence that results in a monorial pilot being dead at 21? How they talk the talk about safety, but don't walk the walk because it's cheaper to operate this way and pay off a family (or multiples ... as you can be sure they were paying folks off from the recent evacuation ... and yes, you can bet they were doing it based on what info they data-mined on the guests).

Or we could talk about the pathetic 2010 press release they put out this week, which basically speaks to the fact that NOTHING AT ALL is coming to WDW in the next year (other than massive discounting).

When your release about the new year is touting many things about the DCL's new ports and services, what exactly does that have to do with WDW? They might as well put out a release touting Season 6 of Lost on ABC, Rapunzel and Tron Legacy coming to a multiplex near you, and TSL opening at DSP!

(Can you tell I wish I were on my way to Vegas right now, like a friend is?)

I have turned in wallets (with cash and credit). I have turned in cameras and glasses. But if I see cash (and this wasn't me) that's a keeper. Same thing with pins. I always come home with 2-3 that I found on the pavement.

I so like to read this as it is what I have be3en telling people for quite some timenow- but I either get the same answer as above ( ALL people lived above their means- or the standard from the other far side of the aisle the left wing nut jobs who will just state Bush broke it and they had nothing to do with it - just as ludicrous as ALL of Congress has allowed off shoring of all our jobs - looked the other way as manufacturing closed it's doors - and both sides spent spent spent on their projects ) -

but 100% agree- this recession ( potential depression)- is not going away like previous ones because we make precious little any more to export..printing more money just not the answer.

I wasn't meaning to compare it to old camaros. I was envisioning more towards the chevelle supersports or nova and that type of muscle car. the one just asking to be jacked up with wide tires and pair of glass packs that oozed power even though they weighed a ton.
The high rear end on the new camaro with it's frowning front grill reminds me of the SS with its rear raised and it's forward leaning passenger compartment that made it look like it was always running downhill. those were the days.

You're an honorable ex-CM, Merfie. If I worked for Disney and found money maybe I'd do what you did.

But in the real world, when I (or anyone I know) finds cash and no way to tell who it belonged to, I/they keep it.

I've never lost a wad of cash. And if I did, I'd likely not know exactly the amount or the place I'd dropped it. Getting it back to the owner is damn near impossible. And for Disney to get to keep it (whether it winds up with a charity or a CM) leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I can't believe my local Disney outlet is trying to sell 2008 dated pins/medals/ornaments for more than the 2009 items were going for in shops at WDW. ... Gotta love the Disney 'tude!

Just kidding about the dog ... I hope!
