Depending on the network, some of the networks actually block the free ringtone sites and/or block txt messages that have music/sound files attached. Mainly so you have to buy ringtones from them. It's a crappy practice and luckily not all carriers do this, but some do.

Using a data cable (or mini USB cable), some phone come with necessary software, others you can find online to buy and/or download... But once installed, you should be able to transfer ringtones, photos and sometimes games back and forth between your phone and computer.

A lot of the newer phones come with or have the option for mini SD cards. With these, you can actually plug them into your computer and download music and such onto them and plug back into your phone to play music and/or ringtones. Sometimes you have to have the ringtones in a particular directory on the card and most of the time, you have to go into the settings of the phone to tell it to look on the SD card rather than on the phone. Sometimes you can also transfer the files from the card to the phone, it all depends on the phone...

Unfortunately, each phone is different nowadays and while some are super easy to get ringtones onto, others are not. Sometimes it is a trial and error method, it all depends on the phone and the service...

Here's also another site to try and download ringtones from and the nice thing is that you can make your own... Again, it'll depend on if your service will actually allow you to download the ringtones. But it's worth a try:

Icey, I don't think mine has that capability. It's a Sanyo Katana - first generation.

I don't remember having to download anything, just opened it like a reg. text message, I think. It's been a while though.

It's funny how people react when my phone rings. If I'm in line somewhere and it rings, someone always says "What's that noise".

I wonder how it's possible that there are people that don't recognize that phrase. ;P

I can also try to send them as a text to anyone that's having trouble getting them online. My email addy is my screen name at yahoo.com.

I realized later that the reason I couldn't send them to wonderingalice is because my phone won't let me send an mp3 file in a message - I can only send them via bluetooth and you have to be within 30 feet of another bluetooth capable phone to get it to work!!

I have the Fantasmic! exit music on a midi file, my friend who introduced me to LP 8 years ago I think got it from here. He had it on an orange floppy along with lovely art previews of DCA. Well, he had 2 orange floppies. I only have one here with me and it's not on that one. I think I may have uploaded it to my desktop pc right behind me, but I need a new monitor so I can't even check. I tried uploading my keyboard playing of Fantasmic! (just a short part of it), but my phone won't accept .wav formats.

Thats neat you mentioned the RR one, Pirate Princess. I was looking for that recently, just the audio file, not a ringtone, because I found the original opening theme music a year ago using the same search engine for it. Now all of a sudden it was no longer available. So I found another and even better, it had the music from the closing credits too - without any voice interruptions (ya know like whats coming up next on Disney Channel).

Anyways, well I managed to convert it successfully to an AAC (one of the 4 audio formats my phone will accept), but it still wouldn't accept it for some reason. And that really bugged me. Then the night before I went to Disneyland last Tuesday, somehow I managed to transfer it to my phone and used it as ringtone! The only drawback was theres not enough memory on my phone and I had to eventually delete it the next day at Disneyland while in line for the subs because it was limiting my picture taking :(

Maybe later I can try to convert my other wav files to AAC's and see if they work too.

On the PC Studio I have for Samsung (you can download it for free on their website and buy the tranfer data cable), you can convert the files to AAC using Multimedia Manager. When your phone is connected to the pc, you can right click the song file and select "To Phone". And it wouldn't work. Most of the file transfering is done using the Phone Explorer part of the software, and sure enough it worked. Just tested it with some of the .wav files I mentioned and it worked. What it does I noticed is it decreases the file size. I have iTunes with Quicktime on here, so when I converted the files to AAC the logo next to the file turned to a Quicktime logo.

I heard that part of the firework show! I just saw it for the first time Tuesday. My favorite part was the Thunder Mountain spiel and the Star Tours/Space Mountain ones.
