Not really into soccer, though, so in the realm of soccer I'm a TOTAL dummy. I do think soccer players are great athletes, I just don't pay any attention to the sport.

I'll be able to let you know tomorrow - right now I'm in Houston at my best friend's place and he doesn't care at all about sports. Me, though? I think Leach deserves to have lost his job if he really did what he's accused of, and so far, it seems as if he did. He should just take his $1.6 million and go away. Good for Tech for putting their students' welfare ahead of their desire to have a winning football team or whatever.

Without dragging this into WE territory, it seems the accusations are in part made up and exagerated by ESPN , it appears the network has a conflict of interest covering this story...

I did some extensive research into this the other night and it is becoming clear that ESPN stepped way out of bounds here and compromised whatever journalistic integrity they had left with their reports....

It is going to be interesting if Leach will end up suing James and ESPN for slander based on some of the comments made about him by ESPN....

This also means that in order to convert the down they must gain the original yardage needed plus the 10 lost in the sack :) hmmm maybe that is confusing

I'd like some info on this as well...something to do with 2 points and a play in the opposing teams end zone, right? A tackle of the receiver there perhaps?

I believe they were around the 15 yardline, at the far end of the field from where they needed to be to score. The center hiked the ball too high, and it flew over the quarterback's head. Luckily (?) there was someone behind the quarterback who caught the ball, but he was in the endzone. I'm not sure what happened next, but I know that the other team ended up with 2 points.

And if there are any hockey experts out there, what exactly is icing? The only thing I know of is that sugary stuff you put on top of a cake, but I don't think that's right.

also a punter who is kicking a ball out of their own endzone can not step out of the back line of the endzone or else it is a safety.....2 pts for the other team.

It was probably recovered by an offensive player in their own endzone and then he was tackled so it was a safety. had it been recovered by the other team in the endzone it would have been a touchdown.

So, if a punter can't punt and gets tackled, is that also a safety?

I know football reasonably well, but hockey totally eludes me (so I'm very curious about icing as well).

    Thanks!

wonder if they were tackled in the endzone before they kneeled down if it would be a safety?? never thought of that hmmm and I thought I knew my football?
