That's the first year of the new decade. Not a heck of a lot. It's sad. And anything else was a "returning attraction from the dead", or slightly updated.

On a practical note though ... DL's remaining space for new attractions is scarce now .. and once the focus shifted to a Second Gated park ... that leaves Park #1 vulnerable to getting stale. Look at the "magic kingdom" park at WDW. With 3 other gated parks ... not a heck of a lot has gone on there in it's 28 year history. And now with the emphasis on DCA from now through 2012 ... DL will be known as the Stagnate Kingdom to match it's sister park in Florida for years to come!

Yes Nemo subs are a remake of an existing attraction, but I certainly do think it about as "new" as any other attraction, considering how much effort was spent to bring them back and freshen up the experience. And considering that both Pooh as well as Buzz were not net additions to the park, but came after other attractions in their locations were first removed, I would think that Nemo Subs certainly carries as much gravity as either Pooh or Buzz or Space Mountain for that matter. And while I generally agree with the spirit of your argument in that Disneyland STILL has not received anything as significant as Indy since Indy, I do think Nemo Subs come awfully close. And I would bet that the money spent on fixing up Nemo Subs equals or succeeds the amount spent on the disastrous Tomorrowland '98 redo in its entirety. Which is certainly something, in my view at least.

But I do think also that there is room for some new big one-of-a-kind E Ticket. But if that space is located along the backside of the river where you round the final bend before returning to the dock, I'm not sure if I want to see that area developed. It's the last remote wildernessy part of the river where you can look out from the boat and not see guests trampling all over the place. I would kinda like to see it stay that way.

It's not a brand new attraction Disneyland has never seen before. Interestingly about Nemo Subs .. that's a tough one. Yes, it's another refurb of an existing attraction from 1959-1998 ... It's such a totally new show, I think it may constitute as something "New" considering how much money was poured into all new show elements. But since my point is specifically NEW Attractions .. NEW to the Disneyland scene ... that would be Winnie the Pooh Buzz Lightyear What a lackluster decade!!!!!!!!

The 'new' Tomorrowland is being made new again, right down to the paint and the pavers. The Carousel is new and the castle is open! So while all of the changes haven't been as flashy as a new E-ticket, disneyland has been (to quote a favorite song), getting stronger every day.
