"Doesn't make sense without it IMO" Of course it doesn't. Rumors never make sense.

I expected some announcements. So it will be a boring Expo when it comes to the parks. I just hope, if WDi is working on a SW Land, it will be more than a Meet & Greet, a restaurant and a small ride.

Has Disney ever used D23 to make formal press announcements about previously unannounced new theme park attractions? "I wouldn't be surprised that IF it gets built there will be bullcdozers tearing down things and WDW will still not comment on it." Yep. Maybe they're following the Universal playbook. For whatever it's worth, there are reports that there were sight-line balloon tests happening at DCA the other day for the rumored new Monstropolis addition/expansion, yet Disney has said zip about that project.

Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "Fantasyland Expansion and Star Wars 2 were both announced in 2009." OK. "Well, height balloon tests happen all the time." Do they? All the time? I've made literally hundreds of visits to DLR since the 70s and I've never once seen a balloon test.

All for blue sky projects. They don't really mean something is getting going any time soon.

They are often up for but a few hours, if that, and then are never seen again. It's not surprising you've never seen them.
Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "Point is, they happen quite often, and are not a sign that significant changes are 100% happening." That isn't what I was questioning. Even if what you say is true about the frequency of the height tests it has no bearing on the recent balloon tests at DCA in regard to the rumored Monstropolis expansion.

I know it's sad that $200m is considered "skimpy" in theme park development terms(hey, those imagineers need to drink their Moet, ya know! Designing the next restaurant and meet 'n' greet area must REALLY take it out of them!), but when all we are hearing about is a Mos Eisley Cantina and a permanent Jedi Academy stage it's kinda pathetic. Man up TDO, grow a pair and actually look what's happening a few miles up the road, at what happens when you let slip the creative people and back them with SERIOUS cash. A princess house and a gussied up toilet block just does not cut it anymore in the twenty first century.
