Any recommendations as to which room #s to request for this? Are there rooms where you can see the fireworks and still hear the DTD music? Hubby and I'd like a little date on the patio with some wine and music after the kids are asleep too.

Leave the door cracked a little there and you get the whoosh every 10-20 minutes of the monorail going through. Had the "city view" once. Had to move after one night. guests coming and going all night long. The Napa Rose is easily the best restaurant on property, or possibly anywhere on earth. It is wonderful. Pricey, and no discounts, but wonderful. Storytellers Cafe is good food too, and they have a buffet as well. Whitewater Snacks is a a great quick service located back in a corner of the hotel by the pool. Quick, easy, and some GREAT nachos. Music by the fireplace in the evenings is fun. And, there is a pianist at various times in the evenings too. If you have a room near the Great Room (Lobby), the music carries right up to the upper floors. If you'll spend time at the hotel, the concierge lounge is great. We had it on our last trip, and only purchased a few meals in the parks all week. It cost more, but we hardly spent any $$ in the parks for food, and we ate healthy-which is hard to do at DLR. If someone has a specific question about the Grand I'd be happy to answer.

What room numbers should I request in my dtd view standard room to have a view of the nightly fireworks. If there are no microwaves do people have any suggestions of what to do about a 3 year old who often refuses dinner, then is hungry before bed? It's all about her being in control!! Thanks

For the best chance of viewing the fireworks (You cannot see everything. For the best view, you must be ON Main Street), and depending on trees between you and the show, choose odd numbered rooms between X419-X427 (X being the floor number). ( http://www.go2mickey.com/image...lmap.jpg ) We used to just gather snacks that could be fed without reheating at the end of the day. Also, visit Whitewater snacks for some quick hold me overs, including fruit, sandwiches, and cereal all day. Watch the hours though. They seem to close early, which can be a problem when the park closes at midnight, and you get back to the room late. And, the Grand has some great room service (with a limited menu 24/7).

All that would be impossible if you aren't driving. But the microwave was really helpful. If you can't fit one in your car or luggage, you could buy one nearby at the local Walmart, or have one shipped directly to the hotel. We got ours for about $40.

We usually bring a bottle of wine to enjoy on the balcony while we listen. Once you close the doors, you don't even hear them. If you go out the back door of the Grand, between the fireplace and Hearthstone Lounge and turn right, there is an outdoor fireplace with chairs and benches. It's a great place to relax with a pizza from Naples or something from Whitewater. You can request a waitress from Hearthstone or bring a cocktail with you. Stop by the Concierge desk in the lobby. They usually have something for the kids. Also, call vacation planning and they can arrange autographed character pictures for you. They've always been complimentary in the past.

I was looking at the DTD map and it looked like if you were above the world of disney store there would be nothing for you to look at or hear from your balcony, so you all are really providing me with good info. YEAH LP!!!
