Store brand canned veggies are fine, and store brand yogurt is usually pretty good (Safeway's is the best) but I won't even try store brand mayo, has to be Best Foods.

Oh boy--let's just say I am a Crisco snob.

I guess it just depends on what the product is. We have to use Tide or Cheer because C.J.'s allergic to anything else and I don't want to make him play guinea pig by trying store brands. I use some Kirkland brand stuff (t.p. and paper towels) and I really like the Safeway brand of pop. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for though so the name brands are worth the extra $$.

I'll buy Smith/Kroger's or Albertson's cheese, salsa and frozen veggies, but that's about it (except for bread/bakery items, which are always better than something manufactured and packaged at a factory then trucked in.)

The worst store brand item I ever bought was Kroger fabric softener. Nasty stuff... lumpy of all things - even after shaking the bottle vigorously.

I think Target's Archer Farms has some of the best stuff, particulaly with their organic milk and bread.

Trader Joes does this a lot. So does Jenny Craig (they don't make their own meals, they buy them from other companies).

For instance, the Eating Right meals that Safeway does? My old company would make those for them. The frozen pineapple at Trader Joes comes from my old company...who buys it direct from Dole. It's so funny.

I'm pretty much hit or miss. I used to know who made which store brands or generics for a lot of products, and it's time to find out again.

Did they really? I always change the station unless it's one of the Bud Light "Real men of genius" commercials. LOL.

I do agree that a lot of the Target Market Pantry stuff is pretty good. Especially some of the chips and crackers.

The only difference is that TJ's sold it for $3.49 and it's $7.99 at Sprouts. I'll buy it when they have it on special for $5.99.
