The concept behind female circumsicion basically boils down to this: Muslims believe that women are innately sexual beings, so much so that they cannot control their lusty behavior. The offending parts are removed to help ensure that women will not participate in behaviors that will relieve their perpetual disire. This is also why they are covered. Men cannot resist the physical allure of a muslim woman, so she must cover herself so as not to provoke the man. In Somalia 90% of women are mutilated in this way. Do you know the rape and AIDS rate in Somalia? They are both rampant so no...there is no point to female circumcision. Sorry to go off topic.
