Ursula, yes I will get a very nicely framed certificate which I believe will have the "reason" I won the award printed on it (short paragraph I think). There is an awards ceremony at the end of March where we will all be recognized and presented our certificates. The County Executive is the keynote speaker and the Sheriff will present awards for the following "of the Year": Law Enforcement Officer (fully commissioned folks) Corrections Officer (the jail guys & gals) Employee (my "competition" was limited commissioned people like myself, property room, forensic techs & investigators, business unit, admin, sex offender unit, civil unit, IT, crime analysis, and various support staff) Volunteer Cadet Reserve Deputy Dispatcher Prosecuting Attorney And there are some Medals of Merit and Lifesaving Awards too. We are encouraged to invite family and friends and of course there will be some sort of cookies/cake and punch/coffee afterwards at the reception. And Kala, no parking space in front, but I already have a parking spot in the back that forces me to walk up a hill at the end of the day - which I keep telling myself is good for me .
