On the grand opening day of DCA, everyone got a commemorative park map. On the DL 50th anniversary day, everyone got specially embroidered golden ears along with a very nice commemorative map. So yes, Disney has given gifts to everyone before. It's just not something they do regularly like at TDR.

TDR just doesn't enter into my thoughts unless you bash it in there. >Spirit?!??!< I was referring to "spirit", lower case. You'll always be Spirit - capitalized!!

OLC announces ahead of time when these "free gift" selected dates are so those interested can plan accordingly and you *know* you will get something for free... even if it is a cheap buttom. At WDW/DLR, they are advertizing free giveaways everyday and elevating guests' expectations, then.. at the end of the day..how many guests go home somewhat disappointed they didn't win anything? This is bound to happen more often now that the promotional machine for this so-called "event" is on. At TDL, there are NO expectations about free gifts on days when non is given. BIG DIFFERENCE in my opinion trekkeruss.

Either way, TDLFAN has given me a good enough reason to find a way to get over there.

One downside of these places is that there are often onerous change or cancellation penalties - much more than when dealing with an airline directly. I would look at what a site like Expedia or Travelocity shows and use that as a starting point. I would go with a bucket shop only if you're saving a significant amount off of what the airline or Expedia or Travelocity will sell you a ticket for.
