Anyway, I liked it, but didn't love it. I don't know if I honestly like the 4 team thing just because tribal council isn't as intense. But, Jeff made a good point that with smaller tribes, you can't really 'hide' anymore or be under-the-radar, so that's interesting. Yeah, the older women were stupid. The Black woman SHOULD have been the one to go, but she convinced them the hardest worker there needed to go. Is she a lawyer too ;).

Anyway, I defintitely liked it and waiting to see what happens next week.

But you're a huge fan of Survivor and you're afraid of leaves and bugs and you want to be on the show? That's like being afraid to fly on airplanes and wanting to be on The Amazing Race, I'm thinking.

They totally used Tina. Thanks for making camp and everything, but buh-bye. And it's the first tribal council. Why are they voting like they're going for individual survival? "Can you beat her? I can't." Hey, stupid, you don't have to beat her. SHE'S ON YOUR TEAM. But, Tina also dug her own grave with her stupid comments at tribal council. They never learn.

I hope they show more of the person on exile island alone.

Anyhow, I think it was super dumb of the older ladies to vote off the lumber jill. Eric & I both think that there's pretty much no chance in hell of those 3 making it far unless whichever one is left after they lose the next 3 immunity challenges makes good friends with someone in the tribe they end up joining.>>

Did anyone else read in TV Guide that the first person voted off was also chosen to go to Guatamala (I think) but 10 days before she was scheduled to go her son died in a car accident? I know she meantioned her son dying, but I don't think she meantioned she was chosen for an earlier Survivor.

I can understand her need to be alone, but in this game you can't afford to make mistakes like that. She alienated herself from the rest of the team.

She could have simply said (ok, it's never simple to tell people your son died) that her son died before she was scheduled to go on Survivor Guatamala and she needed some alone time to think of him. I think the other women would have respected that, and understood her need for the alone time.

My ultimate fave is Bruce the art teacher/ karate instructor.. but I think that crazy 3pack cigarette guy is mean. Nice people usually don't win in survivor. (except for Pearl Islands.. she was alright and I used to like Rupert more when he was on Pearl Islands).

speaking of people afraid of things.. there is a fellow on Amazing Race that *IS* afraid of flying and hopes this will cure him of it.. slightly ot but still amazing that people want to put strangers through your detox/ phobia issues.

me I thought she was saying she was afraid of what was UNDER the leaves but I was corrected (I don't like bugs either but leaves?? gimme a break!)

In an act of fiendish geekiness, I called channel 9 where they said (gasp) our season is NOT set to coincide with the US airing!

In other words, they're planning to air it later on but they have no idea when as yet, and then we're all going to find out the winner so they're not going to show it at all (I hope that won't happen, but it seems likely).

Sorry for the topic hijack, but I wanted to share that with the other Australians who might be reading this and who are curious.

And even if Shane was voted off, it's not like he'd be able to see his son then. I don't know that he'd even be able to call him, because that might give away what position he was in. I thought I remembered hearing that the ones voted off go into seclusion or something somewhere so that everyone reappears in society all at once so there's no clue about who's voted off when.

I liked the twist of the not-chosen one getting immunity from tribal council. He didn't seem too upset about being on Exile Island though he did seem miserable from the rain.

Too frickin' funny that they now have purple and orange squadrons. Taking a page from classic Battlestar Galactica, I see! :p

Sometimes, you'll have bigger women who are well-endowed, but this time, even the skinnier women seem to have water balloons stuffed in their shirts. With the skimpy clothes they wear, I noticed a lot more cleavage shots last night.

And poor Misty (I think it was her) looked like she's being eaten alive by some kind of bug. She was covered with welts from bites.

If I was on Survivor, I would have some sort of rash guard surfing shirt on over my bathing suit top and a pair of nylon shorts to go over the bottoms. I mean, at least for the challenges. These women (and guys too) are giving us some very unflattering images. You'd think they'd want to cover up if they saw their boob hanging out. Maybe I'm too modest.

They obviously pick the younger folks based on eye candy but eye candy doesn't feed you in the woods when you're stuck for eating bugs. These chicks will be looking nasty if they don't get the other folks who know how, to feed them.

I still have my fingers crossed for Bruce. He's neat! Me I would never be on one of these shows, but I've seen every season and know I'd be wearing a racing suit. =) If you wouldn't want your stuff hanging out in public why would you want it hanging out for the whole country?

Besides remember what happened in Thailand(?) with ohmyheck mint girl telling the Boston real estate chick? "um.. your (whatever) is exposed" and she ended up falling off the log in the final 3 trying to cover herself up. If you don't have to pull at it you don't have to let go of your footing. =) I'm horrible at remembering names.

I've heard that as well - and I think ti's GOT to be right. Otherwise, there's no real reason to keep folks around - they could just see video of tribal councils after they're votyed off instead of just sitting in.

Yeah, he seemed totally ok with it. And, I decided I like him. I'm rooting for him, the astronaut, or the former fighter pilot to win.

34... but he looks like he's in his 40s. I'm sure the 3-pack-a-day habit doens't help much.
