Can you imagine if the men were all that sick, and they still had to make it to their new camp AND build shelter? /cs

(Survivor's narrator voiceover) "Next week on Survivor, Gary must make the ultimate sacrifice to keep his secret away from the others after the merge--*MURDER*!! How far will he go to shut her up and which ruin will he bury her under? It's going to be a Survivor like NO other. Right before an all-new CSI. Check for local listings for stations."

Anyone catch Jeffs reference in the 1st show about Bobby Jon and how "he was one the best at challenges". So far I dont think he has done very well at all. I love the mind games that they play wiht the viewers with comments and editing. Im impressed that girl knew who he was cause she looks young. He was always pretty much a back up at best and hasnt played in some 12+ years.

If you ever remember him as a player Gary was NOT very athletic, unless they have throwing/quick thinking type challenges i dont think he really has any advantage over a few of the others.

How does that translate that he will get voted off? I would have thought the other members on his team would see him as Athletic and able to perform challenges!

The farmer, for example, might be in really great shape from hard physical work. I think he's a little overblown about it.
Originally Posted By WorldDisney Actually, I was reading about the whole 'Gary controversey' on another website and one good point was being brought up why he was keeping it a secret. It's not simply the atheletic issue that they might see as a threat (or not), its the MONEY issue too. Many people assume if you are an ex-athlete in an obviously major organization like the NFL, then you already got paid and so what are you doing on Survivor?? Of course, many people don't know that at the time he was playing, Football was one of the lowest paid professional sports you could have done ironically. VERY few sports figures were making over a million dollars a year in the 80's and since he was a lower player like guys said he was, then he probably made maybe a few hundred thousand a year. Not bad , but not exactly the tens of millions of dollars players can make today. But since most of those kids were probably still in Diapers most of the time he was playing, they probably wouldn't know all that and just assume he was paid well, good or not and don't need the money like all those waitors and bartenders Survivor is very good at getting . So, its definitely another good reason to keep it a secret....even if it's going to blow up in his face which it looks like its going to happen lol. BTW, the same website I was reading, many people there assumed the girl, Debbie, that outed him as an ex-quarterback was FED that information by someone from the show and couldn't possibly know that. I had never thought of that, but many of them are convinced that even a sportscaster (especially a young one) wouldn't be able to recognize a 3rd string not-in-the-spotlight quarterback who has aged 20 years since then right on the spot of seeing him for the first time. Most seem to have a point. One poster even put up his picture of the guy in uniform when he was playing and he looks VERY different, fuller face, no grey hair obviously and more built. Most people were saying they use to watch football back then when he was playing and could in no way have guessed who the guy was today. So, was she fed the info by the show or not? What are some of your thoughts? If she was, isn't that interferring in the process of the show?
Originally Posted By GrumpysWife IF she was fed the information, that would definately be interference-not good form. Maybe she just has a really good memory for names, and put it together from that?
