There appear to be far more of these folks than I once thought, and most of them seem egged on by fringe AM radio or blog sites where they get all of their "facts" that are ignored by everyone else along with where their opinions are given to them.

Well, when you realize that the "mainstream" Republican party consists of Steele, Limbaugh, and Palin in the main...you can't be too surprised when the "fringes" are a whole lot further, er, "infringed"? :p

But that didn't stop an elected representative insinuating that the government was responsible for it both then and now.

Responsible for not protecting people or somehow responsible for the release of the flu bug in an effort to kill or control people? I guess when you're crazy, you can really come up with lots of different plots...

Yep. And boy howdy I bet my opinion isn't a popular one, but I say bring on the next great pandemic. There's too many of us on this planet - wiping out a few hundred million just might be a good move.

As to pro life and pro death penalty, the difference there is innocence. A pro life person would say that the embryo is an innocent life form and helpless, while a maniacal murderer loses their right to life. I'm not saying I agree, just that it isn't completely a hypocritical stance to take.

Unpopular might be a mild understatement, considering most victims will be infants, the elderly and the disabled.

I understand and share your concern regarding over population. However, I disagree that a pandemic, where only the strong survive is a desirable way to achieve this goal.

I understand that, but honestly - what other possible ways do we have to lessen the population on this planet? And our drain on its resources.
