Many Disney operated restaurants only have a handful of options to choose from. For instance, compare the menus at Rainforest to the menus at France or Canada. There are expections, but you get my drift I hope.

Personally, I don't care who runs the restaurant behind the scenes as long as the food is good and there is a good variety. AK needs this sit-down restaurant as it continues to evolve into a night-time park like its predecessors.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I do remember hearing at some point that the WS restaurants were actually not run by Disney themselves. IF that is true, nevermind my comment above.... In that case, just substitute Canada and France for, let's say, Liberty Tree Tavern and Cinderella's Royal Table in my previous comment above :)

The not-so-good news? Not a Disney operated restaurant, but outsourced. While the food at the Rainforest isn't the best, we don't find it to be the worst either. We'll eat there (mainly because AK doesn't give other sit-down choices), and enjoy certain foods (the Caesar salad and the crab anythings are quite tasty), usually eating at the bar (no wait).

Now in no way shape or form do I put RF in the categories with the better Disney restaurants - like Boma mentioned above -

however I view it as an improvement over only Rf being offered ..

The one other thing I will say is service at almost any RF is slow....has always been so and that would be my top complaint.
