I'm about to take over the business sometime within the year, it's not like I pretty much run it now. I have some customers that have been on service longer then I've been with the company. Going to their homes every month for the past 19 years, you get to know them well. You see Customers come and go, then sometimes come back again a couple years later. Always meeting new people.
Never going to be out of a job, there will always be Bugs! I Need 3Mil to retire too, so it looks like I'll be working forever! Unless I win something nice at the casino! lol!

I currently work in customer service at home for a small company. I handle the typical things... phone calls (retrieving/forwarding messages, returning calls, phone orders), emails, data entry. This is on a part time basis.

Is this the work you've wanted to do or is it a stepping stone?

I fell into this particular job upon moving to Southern CA and I love it. It wasn't planned but I'm happy. This is something I can do on the side for a long time to come but I am working on bigger things for the future in addition to this job. Me and hubby hope to flip houses in the future. I want to run an animal sanctuary someday but that will probably be volunteer work.

Are you near retirement, in the middle or just starting your career?

Retirement is far out of sight.

This year will be my fourth year in kindergarten! While I enjoyed first grade, kindergarten is definitely where I belong. Someday I may look into another specialist position but for now I have no plans for that since I have one of the biggest classrooms you can get in our district and I don't want to move out!

I smile every time I think about it.

I am a jack of all trades, master of none. Right now I think I have 5 job titles ranging from Convention Concierge to Element team to Pirates n Pals to MATRA coordinator and who knows what else...

Is this the work you've wanted to do or is it a stepping stone? Definitely not. I am trying to find the next stone to jump to

I am not ready to retire, and won't be for quite some time. I've started a 401K twice now - due to having to withdraw money due to our company cutting our pay. It's stable now, so maybe by the year 2063 I might have about $50K to play with LOL

I started the company off just over a year ago after I was laid off, 3 months before that company went bankrupt. At the time, it felt like the end of the world, but it gave the confidence to strike out on my own (14 years I worked as a senior manager for IT, Implementation, Service Companies and Consultancy Advisory firms - some small, some market leading, some world class $4bn pa firms).

It is strange, in some ways it is always what I wanted to do (if I wasn't an imagineer or theme resort developer), but not necessarily where I expected to be. I wanted to be a Programme Director for UNICEF when I was a kid, hence studying International Relations and Education as well as interning with the UN, NATO and the European Parliament. But when I applied, they take the smallest number of US citizens and mainly medics or engineers.

So I started life as a school teacher, then a Social Worker, then moved into external support/advisory work. I have worked on large scale national and international programmes, led a bill and it's implementation to improve services for kids in foster care, and recently service as the Pan London HIV Prevention Programme Manager with a market of 7m people over 31 primary care trusts. Currently I am working on a school transport cost efficiency and commissioning project and looking at diversifying my practice, I am even cosidering a new direction all together.

I suppose I am early mid stream career, and with the current state of politics, I am considering getting out of it and doing something else.

The great thing is I have tried to changemy life so I am there for my family more.

I did a Communications degree after school with majors in journalism and PR. All I wanted was to be a journalist. Long story short, that didn't really work out and I "stumbled" into teaching. I've never been happier! At the start of this year I did substitute teaching which I also loved just as much and would happily go back into in the future. Like most Australians I love my leisure time and I don't "live to work" but I'm surprised by how happy and fulfilled my work helps me to feel. Unless I take on a learning support role like LVBelle mentioned, I can't picture doing anything else.

Just starting. Got my first class at the ripe old age of 25 and I'm near the end of my second year now.

I am a mobile pet photographer. Basically, I travel to a certain group of pet stores in Idaho & Montana to take pictures of people's pets (& with their human family too sometimes).

Is this the work you've wanted to do or is it a stepping stone?
It's not anything I ever THOUGHT about doing, but I could very easily do it for a long time!

Are you near retirement, in the middle or just starting your career?
Just starting. I've only been doing it a month now - 3 weeks on my own.
