Youngest DD is a tamale fanatic, now having tasted these I may become a fanatic myself :)

    Thanks for the help :)

As for recipe... ummm that's kind of a secret [ducks under the brim of his fedora] But I will tell you a way to cheat, get a can of Mexican "red sauce" thats right "Red Sauce" NOT Mole [unless you want chocolate on your Tamale] pour the contents of the can of red sauce into a sauce pan over low heat, add seasoning like cumin, garlic, crushed red chile, and other stuff like that. Let it simmer a while until you get the flavor you like.

Then, be bold like Big Thunder and pour some sauce on your Tamales yum :)

BTW microwaving IS the best way to warm them up, I have often wondered, what did people do to warm their tamales before microwave ovens?

    LOL!

As you can see no one wants to give out their tamale recipes. Cumin, garlic and "stuff" - yep! That's all I'm telling too! Plus, the secret steaming strategies and techniques.

I personally don't think you can just decide to make tamales and do it. I think it would be hard to just follow a recipe without someone helping you.
