"Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull' felt like a movie that was made by committee -- it had lots of 'let's do this because people will want to see that' (Marion Ravenwood's re-introduction for example) As a result, that movie sucked pretty hard. In a perfect world, I would see a movie without ever having seen a preview for the movie. Last time I did, it was 15+ years ago -- a screening for 'The Super' starring Joe Pesce. In today's world, that's damn near impossible.

It completely captured the spirit of New Orleans throughout the film, while carrying the emotional arc of the story. I've honestly hated everything else that he's done (at least that I've recognized as being his), but this one was very different. The style of music was a departure from Newman's usual stuff, and it was a departure from the typical musical style as well. Yet somehow it just worked for me. And using Dr John for the opening scene just made it that much better.
