Statement like this are what inspire loud responses. You've just told someone who likes the show that they have no taste.

    >> The Legend of the Lion King has it. Aladdin at DCA does. The old Hunchback show at MGM had it. Tarzan Rocks doesn't. <<

What is "IT?" And how can you be so certain? Are the rest of us missing the point?

Honestly -- I like the Lion King show too. And I see Lion King and Tarzan at the same level. And yet you see them as being different.

Maybe that's one factor I like so much about Tarzan. The technology, theatrical effects, staging. I like the technical aspects of Disney's Broadway offerings and Cirque du Soleil as well. Kind of at the opposite end of the theater spectrum from "Our Town." (Which I also like)

I noticed long ago that even professional movie reviewers aren't always right about a given movie. They're just good observers and writers and have their own opinions. (Albeit probably more professionally grounded than most)

What's important is to notice when a particular reviewer agrees with you most often. Then you can "trust" their reviews FOR YOU in the future.

Still doesn't make them right or wrong.

    So Tarzan GOOD?
    Or Tarzan BAD?

    Answer......

    Yes -- depending.

Funny how different things can be perceived. I have always found the Tarzan Rocks show to be poorly choreographed, messy and simply makes no sense at all..with a very jarring blend of rock concert and the Tarzan characters that honestly, do not fit the setting of the show.

So I'm interested -- how do you compare Tarzan with Lion King? Aren't they very similar in structure overall?

I figured the rock band went along with the "Rocks!" part of "Tarzan Rocks!"

It's also a way to get real live musicians and singers into a show that would normally be all on tape.

("Tape" <-- good lord -- that'll date me)

I think you forget this show, "Tarzan" appeals to children and the point I feel you don't seem to get is that it is fun. That's all. Simple.

Once again, for the record, I'm not a guy. My screenname seems to imply "male". No. Not me. I just simply love the Trailsend Buffet in Ft Wilderness. I'm a huge Ft Wilderness fan.

LuvDatDisney, have you ever tried the School Bread in Norway????

I am just stating my point of view. I am sure your observations are as valid as mine.

    >>So I'm interested -- how do you compare Tarzan with Lion King? Aren't they very similar in structure overall?<<

I enjoy the Lion King much more because the acrobatics, characters, and song are more in tune with each other, as opposed to the Tarzan show where the elements don't seem to go with one another... what does a jungle have got to do with loud rock and skaters?? Hard to explain but this show has been a loud dud to me since I first heard it.
More so...as far as the Lion King show is concerned... HKDL's version improved on it because it added a lot fo the story into the show..making it a more theatrical and cohesive experience than the DAK version.

    >>I figured the rock band went along with the "Rocks!" part of "Tarzan Rocks!"<<

..and you figured correctly, but rock music seems so out of place in regards to Tarzan... Even the movie soundtrack does not seem so loud and in your face as this show's music is.

    >>It's also a way to get real live musicians and singers into a show that would normally be all on tape.<<

Personally I find nothing bad with a show being on tape. It helps avoid those prima donnas from straying too much from the script. Live spoken parts is one aspect of the MK's Cinderellabration I detest, besides the cheap budget that show was built on. ..and let's face it, many performers at WDW are adecuate but some of them are really bad as well...so I much rather hear a professionally recorded vocal than a bad live one, whihc to me was another problem with Tarzan Rocks! The few times I have put myself thru this horrible experience, the singers have been the main reason why I find this show unbearable to watch.

..and that's your simple opinion Ms Trailmix. I think you forget that some of us expect more than a "fun" show and you don't seem to get that either.

There's nothing to get TDLFAN. When traveling with children, it's a different plan of action. The show is loud and lots of action going on. Kids enjoy it.

    >>some of us expect more than a "fun" show <<

Oh, I don't think you are any fun at all, TDLFAN. Didn't mean to mislead you there. Walking around with you at WDW would not be a good day.
