No, not really as that part of my life came much later.

My anti police stance came several years earlier:

when I was 14 after a Babe Ruth baseball league game county sheriffs stopped Coach, Dad and me and ordered us out of the car(Coach's car fit some loose description of someone they wanted to question).

Dad, being a chain smoker, lit up right there on the sidewalk while the sherrifs maybe 25 ft. away questioned Coach. One of the 4 shariffs, a female, told Dad to put that out. Dad asked why and she quickly grabbed the cig. and extinguished it on the back of his hand.

There I was standing in baseball uniform watching helplessly as one sheriff got in Dad's face like Marine drill sgt. Lee Irmey in Full Metal Jacket while his female colleague got to show off her power at my father's expense.

Dad contacted a lawyer friend who in turn referred him to a civil rights law specialist--- nothing materialized; but you knew that anyway since police go unpunished almost always.

I have one other first hand nice little story about pigs if you are interested.

So no, it's not my drug use that shaped my opinion; it's filthy swine behavior that did it.

1 in 10,000 odds..... that the pig(s) would have been formally admonished and/or convicted of police misconduct(if there were video footage of the incident maybe 1 in 10 odds at best)

But to characterize all cops as swine and pigs? Laughable.

Maybe, but not as laughable as your apparent naivete or outright defensivenss. I suspect more the latter and that you know more about the volume of abuse out there than you lead us to believe.

And as to my 'allness' approach, I think I'll just hang on to it just a little longer until the brotherhood or unspoken code that exists in police dept's brakes.

Isn't it interesting that here on LP (a little microcosm of our world) we've heard several stories of bad experiences with cops in various areas of the country.

Surely this nerdy Disney fan site isn't filled with common criminals. Hardly a den of inequity.

And yet in this little corner of the web, we find ordinary folks and their associates who've been harassed (even brutalized, in this particular story), by cops.

What *I* find laughable Passholder is your inability to gain any perspective from reading these stories.

All of which only further illustrates how difficult it is to be a police officer.

I haven't taked about another incident far more haunting than yelling in Dad's face and burning a cig on his hand for two reasons:

    1) the story I have would come out sounding incredible--- as in not to be believed

    2) I am a painfully slow typist and the story would have to be long winded for one to fully appreciate

So X, I've been thinking about it and it's best if I tell the story in person since the main character(cop) was my next door neighbor for 23 years(in either San Jose, San Francisco or Sacramento, CA--- and yes, I am purposely being cryptic here).

I knew the family as well as can be as we spent countless hrs. around each other over the years from doing trips, playing sports and dining and holidays. The cop just happened to be extremely famous within the the law enforcement world(or should I say imfamous?). The guy toured the US and was even personally called to appear by now ex presidents.

X, I will tell you in person if you want
to hear since I'm getting an itch to tap Disney Sea again soon..... but I think I'll wait for Monsters Inc. to open before I cross that part of the Pacific-- we'll see.
