Same here. This is maybe the third or fourth thread I've bothered to read in a year and it was all because of your name

The New Fantasyland seems to be light on substance and headlining an 18 month old direct clone from California, but at least it's pretty to look at.

It will be interesting to see how Disney World's infamously lower level of maintenance and upkeep deals with all these new toys. What will the place look like by next summer, I wonder?

I wouldn't hold your breath on similar updates coming to the desperately-needed areas in the rest of the Magic Kingdom Park, however. I have a hunch they won't go back and touch the Magic Kingdom for at least a decade. There has been absolutely nothing even hinted at a rumor for any future Magic Kingdom work, as there are several other WDW parks more desperately in need of investment and updating than Magic Kingdom now.

    Sad, but true.

Thanks again for your rational and wise perspective on this!

I don't have kids and I loved it. A lot of fun. Didn't hurt that Belle was quite hot.

Demde... glad this old thread put a smile on your face. Yup, I'm still alive and kicking (much to some people's displeasure around here) but since I am retired for good, I no longer bother with pictorials.. which is too bad since I have over 1000 pictures from the Halloween and Xmas events from Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, all taken in the past 3 months.. Maybe I should consider putting them up on a personal "shared" page online.. hmmm.

My Belles was very pretty. Now the Belle I saw in the show at the Disney Studio....Belles is supposed to be the most beautiful women in the village, not the least beautiful.

In regards to that old as time Beast show at MGM... Please, the male dancers are prettier than Belle. Then again they should be since most of the them dance at a well known drag queen revue show down the interstate from Disney near Orlando downtown.

...until I visited Tokyo Disney Resort for the first time two months ago!

OMG- TDLfan, you are right on the money about everything! It truly is all in the details. It was shocking how wonderful everything was and now I believe every comment you post! So many great things; I don't know where to begin. I also had the chance to visit HKDL and see Grizzly Gulch. I read a comment you posted on here a few months back and agreed 100%; it's a wonderful attraction!

I now look forward to reading your views, and finally agreeing with them; I have seen the light :)

I also enjoyed this honest review of New Fantasyland and now want to see it for myself even more! Thanks!

But I am glad you got to see TDR and also HKDL, which is a lovely little park, even if many people who have never been (nor will they ever go) rant on just because of their size.

I am planning a quick visit to the MK later this week.. and may or may not offer an updated opinion on the expanded Fantasyland offerings, if I can take time out of my busy schedules to do that.

The entertainment alone at that resort is unbelievable! I actually had to make an entertainment schedule in my iPhone just to keep track! To see the Haunted Mansion, looking exactly like the Florida one, but in Nightmare overlay was nothing short of wonderful. And the Country Bear Christmas show! And Christmas decorations and music IN EVERY LAND! Simply wonderful; everything you've been saying the past few years is so true!

HKDL is a great park; very well-maintained! You're right about people commenting on its size, but there is still enough there to have an enjoyable time there.

My next Disney trip is in July to CA to see the new improvements at DCA. Until then I'll keep reading your posts; I look forward to them! I do look hope the New Fantasyland keeps up with the theming and details (we all know how the "New Tomorrowland" storyline of 1994 slowly eroded into a hodge-lodge of Stitch and Pixar, slowly losing its way). It sounds like they have a good start, and Seven Dwarfs will definitely be a good addition!

I don't know if anyone was looking at WDW through rose colored glasses. We were just comparing it against what we knew. What percentage of people here have been lucky enough to visit the Tokyo parks? I would guess less than 5%.

I think many people used to be willing to give WDW as a whole a pass since Epcot was such a wonderful park. Now with Epcot becoming stale and rundown people aren't willing to be so generous in their appraisals of WDW.

How does it work with the New Fantasyland? Is there a new stroller sea or smaller pockets here and there?

The last time I took my nephew to Disneyland, I told him no stroller. He was a trooper and lasted the whole day (but we never told his mom lol).

Funny you bring that up, RT. Personally I think WDW as a whole ahs improved since the last time I was there (though there is still work to be done), but EPCOT is close to becoming the worst park in the resort for me. FW is a mess and WS is just too stale for drinking and food to save it.

Am I the only one who find it hilarious that a Disney park in a non Christian nation puts on a better Christmas show than the parks in "Christian" America?
