It is the hypocrits, the book burners, the wasps, the helfire and brimstoners. Those are the bad christians. You know, they ones that do not act according to the good teachings they purport to shroud themselves in.

You know, kind of like if a healthfood coach all of a sudden was seen eating a bucket of KFC, a Dominoes Pizza, a Whopper Meal and a dozen tacos washed down with a bottle of Jack Daniels while smoking were telling off people for being fat.

The amount of crap that is out there about conservatives beliving in Christian values, and how that seems to be the auspicious approach to so many issues. To then behave in a wholly unchristian way, it is laughable.

Just like the religious right who are anti social medicine, when Christ was a practitioner of Social Medicine.

I suggest reading "Deer hunting with Jesus". It provides an interesting perspective as to why the white lower middle class consistetntly votes against their economic interestes.

    "yes, good pious blacks, all!"

Can you now see why the sarcastic and biting Christian comments are unneeded?

Black comments don't belong in my story because we're talking about reprehensible behavior not their skin color, same with the Christian references.

Kilroy is still in the USA(unfortunately!!!)

They're not saying these people are bad because they're Christian. They're saying these people (almost certainly the vast majority) purport to be Christian, yet are behaving in a non-Christian way.

The black analogy doesn't work, because being black doesn't presuppose a particular behavior or way of viewing life. Christianity does - ostensibly, you're following the teachings of Christ. Yet, these people are doing anything but.

Dave is right - it's more like the health food guru, who tells other people how they should live and ostensibly behaves that way himself - gorging on junk food. Much better analogy.

And you are not getting what I am saying. Those two comments were unnecessary sarcastic blasts coming out of left field. Cheap, cowardly shots. Shots that make us "non faithfuls" look like jerks.

The comments were not unnecessary or gratuitous IMO. They were pointing out the hypocrisy of the people in question. As a Christian myself, I took no offense at all, and knew exactly where they were coming from. PB doesn't post here that much, but if you'd been around longer, you'd know that ecdc doesn't take cheap, cowardly shots.

Sadly, it's not that difficult. And these people SHOULD be called out for what they are. I'm far more offended by the original story - and I would think you would be too - than anything that came after.

We went through this. Given that it was a group of self-proclaimed "tea parties," it's a safe assumption that the overwhelming majority were. If there were non-Christians among them being hypocritical to what they ostensibly believe in as well, fine - call them out, too.
