    I've always thought that a large part of politicians are probably atheist, and just pretend to be Christians because they'd have no chance otherwise.

    I generally shun Nazi analogies, but it's instructive of plenty of non-Nazi situations too - when you want to attack someone, you claim they're attacking you.
