I'm obviously not alone in saying Cars was by far the worst Pixar movie.

To me there are enough differences to make them both stand out.

To many it was their favorite Pixar movie. And I'm not living in a bubble either. Cars has obviously been popular enough with the general public that Disney is deciding to make an ENTIRE land based on the movie. They wouldn't do this if they didn't believe in the movies popularity and ability to bring in guests. Cars got a bad rap from the critics for whatever reason. Who cares. The general public loved it. It's amusing how often these two groups have completely different tastes.

It's amazing how many different Cars-related products are available in stores, and they are still selling strong. Again, not a huge fan of the movie, but I understand why Disney is trying to capitalize on its marketing potential. The new land will be VERY popular.

I'm not thrilled that it's yet another collection of Pixar based attractions, but it does appear to be an addition that will be an enhancement to the park.

Originally Posted By Hans Reinhardt "But now that both companies are all one big happy family, I don't see any difference between Buzz and Goofy." I wouldn't like it if every other new ride was based on classic Disney characters either. Especially if management tried to put a Goofy themed attraction in Tomorrowland or any other place besides Fantasyland. Yet, this is exactly this kind of mis-theming that they are doing with the Pixar characters across the board. Don't even get me started on Nemo and the Submarines. Now, it isn't that I think that creating Pixar attractions is a bad move. The issue I have is that it's too much of the same thing over and over again to the point where the experiences are becoming redundant. From a creative standpoint you should ask yourself if DCA really needs another entire Pixar themed land when the park already has A Bug's Land, a Monsters ride, a Pixar parade, and the new Toy Story Mania on the way. In my opinion most of the new additions would probably be just as entertaining without the Pixar characters.
