You have to see the Mount Fuji art -- it appears to be a giant plasma type screen -- in the sushi bar section (Tokyo Dining, I believe). The CMs were all friendly to a fault. And Aiko was so cute, you almost wanted to wrap her up and bring her home It was also so pleasant to simply walk up to a WDW full serve resturant, put your name in, get a pager and get seated. Of course, that does leave out the magical calling 180 days in advance to plan a meal deal that WDW management wants. But it brought back very fond memories of what EPCOT dining used to be, minus the WorldKeys. The food wasn't really any different than before. The presentation of the salad was slightly better/larger. And I was glad to see WDW scouring Atlantic City for Japanese chefs ... way too many are clearly getting left behind if Bob is an example. I certainly don't find the prices to be cheap -- our meal was free thanks to the wonders of the DDP 'Hurricane Season Special' ... they are very similar to what the Teppanyaki pricepoints were. But I should remark that about 3-4 years ago they stopped including soup and salad with every entree (something that had been done since 1982 and it done at every similar style Japanese resturant I have ever dined at in the uSA) while prices were raised. And as Denise said, this is the only locale in EPCOT that does not accept the DDE (something that management frankly should mandate, even if Disney has to make up the 20% itself). But the food quality, presentation and the 'show' that is why people enjoy these restaurants was all very, very good. I would put it up with the best EPCOT locales now and advise any spirits out there who enjoy Japanese cuisine to check it out. For what's its worth my new top 5 of EC dining (not counting price) would be: 1.) Bistro de Paris; 2.) Coral Reef; 3.) Tutto Italia; 4.) Tepan Edo; 5.) Le Cellier;

Chefs is very blanded down, Americanized food in a French atmopshere. If you go for French onion soup, a salad, some wine and dessert, it's quite good. But Bistro is real gourmet French cuisine with top service in a much more upscale, intimate and (usually) blessedly child-free atmosphere. It is one of the best resturants at WDW by far. And, thankfully, it does not participate in the DDP.

I have not been to the Bistro de Paris restaurant, and don't really plan to - I don't even like paying much money for fast food! But it sounds very nice (and you can't make a reservation until 30 days in advance). Denise
