The one in Richmond is located in an old plantation house that was retrofitted to hold the restaurant. The ambiance is great and they consistently serve GREAT meals. The DC location (downtown location - there are 2 in the city) is a cold sertile environment. I think I was spoiled by the Richmond, VA one and expected more. And my brother's steak was so bad he had to return it (and he is not a picky eater).

I found it just so-so when I went. Nothing incredible, not bad. Not overpriced either, we went for lunch.

Yes. Where you take a right to head to the Convention Center, Marriott and Hilton. It's kind of in the parking lot of the Sheraton (formerly Coast Anaheim).

I'm confused. Did you go to Morton's in Anaheim? I wasn't even aware it was open for lunch (I know the one in Santa Ana is).

There's also a new Ruth's Chris in Anaheim in front of the new Courtyard on Harbor Blvd heading south toward the 22 freeway.

One thing about Ruth's Chris is that each location is decorated independently, often in a way related to the location (such as the plantation house you mentioned). So, if you've not been to a particular location before, you really have no idea what it's going to be like inside. Of course, that can be a good thing, as having every location exactly the same is one thing that turns some people off of chains.

Sorry to hear that your brother had a food problem - I've always had excellent food and service. And, one thing that stands out is that they are able to properly serve a large table. I've been at a table of 8-10, and when the food comes, they enlist 3-4 servers to do it so that everyone gets their food almost at the same time. It was really impressive, and the only place I can remember that served a large table that way.

But how can you put an Epcot Center restaurant on your favs list that doesn't take DDE? Only way we'll go there is for Candlelight dinners, since DDE is not a factor there. In actuality, that's the only time in the last few years that we've gone to Japan to eat.

At this point in time, I'd prefer Japan without DDE to Le Cellier with (Le Cellier does get sold out now of course, 6 months ahead for dinner - but in part because of the high dollar value). I have always enjoyed Teppanyaki as a favorite, and up until now I enjoyed Le Cellier. But DDE or not, it's a terrific restaurant and experience. I don't normally eat out much, not even a lot of fast food - not matter what, DDE or not, I can cook much cheaper at home!
