I was there in spring of 2005, and it broke down while we were in line, but we came back after a quick visit to Mission:Space, and it was up and running again. I don't know if the breakdowns are less frequent now or not, but they certainly don't last as long.

And as to sensors on the car, I'm pretty sure the car's display is a mock display. In other words, it's not actually reading back data, but only a pre-recorded video clip of instrumentation.

I was very pleased with all of these cars. Never left me stranded, and no major mechanical problems, unlike some other cars I've owned. However, I did have to walk out of Test Track one time. Who is responsible for this technoligy, General Motors or Disney? Oh I forgot, my wife still owns the first car she ever purchased new after graduating High School, a '68 Firebird, and I still have my Corvette, great cars. So I would have to respectfully disagree with your statement Spirit.

Had radiator issues and an electrical issue ( would short out radio - they could never find 79 Turbo Trans Am - (GM turbo bad idea )- T-tops leaked constantly- finally determined they were miscut at factory - after having to escalate multiple times to regional reps - could not be fixed - offered settlement 80 Corvette - overheating issues - and replaced brakes every 10K - too small for car IMHO 82 Z 28 - Cross Fire engine - nuff said - got to know my mechanic real well ( upside is we are still friends today) 83 S10 Blazer - looked great - but buying the first of anything is a mistake as I found out - from body integrity issues to rain that used to leak in through firewall 84 Trans Am - hard to judge - was stolen 2 months in Wife had 86 Cavalier Z24 - all I know is I picked her up a lot when droppng it off at the dealer - I told her to buy Accord. then finally seeing the trend emerging - I stopped until I got nostalgic and bought a 1997 SS Z28 Anniversary edition - White w/ Hugger Orange stripes. Wish I'd have bought the coupe instead of the convertible, because the torque on the car caused major body shake and door integrity issues - last GM car I have owned - and as you can tell I go thru a lot of cars -- Just got tired of constant trips to and from dealerships.... maybe they have gotten better again - ( I'd love to have my Chevelle back) - but I am not going to find out....very happy where I am today -- been driving BMW's for 10+ years - and the last 5 they come with all maintenance paid for for 4 yrs , 50K - the thing is , have not had to use much of it as outside of scheduled maintenance, the last 3 cars have never been back for a single issue. Maybe it's luck, but I am not going back now ( as nice as the new Camaro Z28 convertible looked at the Auto show)

I could lay rubber going into the first two gears and chirp it pretty good going into third. 1973 Ford Maverick Grabber - wife #1 wanted something she could drive. So it still had the 302 V-8, but had automatic and was ORANGE and white. I should have kept the 72 Grabber and dumped the wife. 1975 Ford Mustang II - Well, it was badged as a Mustang and had a pretty nice interior. But the 4 cylinder engine was worthless; even with a 4 speed manual transmission. (I told my wife she could learn to drive a manual or leave. She learned to drive a manual. And left a couple of years later. Oh well.) 1978 Ford Pinto Wagon - Orange. With wood on the side. The first truly terrible Ford I ever owned. I had no choice. My Mustang blew a cam-shaft at 32,000 miles. I guess I should have taken the recall notice more seriously. The engine really WASN'T being lubricated properly. At any rate, I needed a car. Fortunately there was a Ford Dealership close to where the Mustang died. I bought the only new car I could afford that they had on the lot. You don’t get a real good trade value when you tell them where the car is and that they will have to tow it in. But my soon-to-be second wife and I were moving into a house we had purchased in a week, and I needed transportation. Boy, did that salesman see me coming a mile away. 1980 Ford Fairmont Wagon - The second truly terrible Ford car that I owned. The late 70's early 80's weren't real kind to Ford. 1982 Ford Escort - First car I ever bought that was "loaded". It really wasn't a bad car. I liked it. 1985 Ford Tempo - Bland but reliable. 1987 Mercury Sable - I truly loved that car. 1990 Ford Tempo - Bland but reliable. 1994 Mercury Sable - I truly loved that car too. Until my Charger, probably the best car I ever owned. 1996 Ford Aspire - My finest moment as a dad to my son. I traded in my beloved Sable for a rolling sardine can so I could use the cash back to buy my son a car when he got his license. The Aspire was made by Kia, and really wasn't a bad car. Just small. VERY SMALL. 1998 Ford ZX2 - Really a pretty nice car. Reliable and quite fast. But it wasn't what I really wanted. A Mustang. 2000 Ford Mustang - I totally loved how this car looked and it was extremely reliable. I kept it for longer than I'd ever kept a car. But it had a couple of things that became annoying after awhile. I got really tired of a back seat that no one could sit in. It was also quite slow considering it had 200 HP. My wife's Tribute (a small SUV) with the SAME ENGINE was far faster than my Mustang. It just wasn't fair. 2006 Dodge Charger - This car is FASTER than my wife's Tribute was. I really like the performance of this car combined with the comfort of a full sized automobile. I bought it with the High Output V-6 rather than the Hemi. It puts out 250 HP which sends it down the road quite nicely. I also like the aggressive good looks of its styling. It looks like it eats Mustangs for breakfast. It is built on the same platform as the Chrysler 300. It is a very nice handling car with anti-lock braking and an electronic stability program, so the rear wheel drive actually handles Minnesota winters very well. I truly enjoy this car and have experience no problems with it. Of course I only have about 6K miles on it, so it is a little early to judge it as "reliable". That’s it. My wife has had a bunch of cars too, but I can’t really speak to those. I've really only had two Fords that I would classify as real losers. Of coursed I've never kept my cars very long, so maybe they were losers after I traded them. They still are better than my son's VW Jetta. He bought that car with relatively low mileage (I think about 45K) and he has had it into the shop at least every other month since he bought it. The LEAST reliable car I've ever seen, which is pretty much how Consumer Reports rates it. So to get this back on topic, I would have to judge Fords to be more reliable than both Chevrolet and Test Track.

The sanding trucks go backward down the hills on my road, so 4 wheel drive is required. Before the road was tarred, my '65 Mustang did a great job on the hills, as long as I had 100 pounds of horse feed in the trunk. Alas, no more horses.

I'll stick with my Mercedes-Benz and Hondas when it comes to buying a car. They've been the polar opposite to my USA experiences. Like I said, Test Track is as reliable as the typical GM vehicle.
