You'd think she could afford a dress that fit properly. Why was she there at all, anyway?

But me and my Mum just sat there saring and slowly saying 'what?' over and over.. very strange Loved Kate Winslet finally winning! It was the second time I cried..the first being the Ledgers accepting Heath's award.. loved that as well Loved the musical sequence in the middle. I didn't mind the HSM/Mamma Mia cast being there but I felt they actually didn't highlight them too much.. took us a moment to realise they weren't just random back up dancers. Loved the past winners individualy adressing each nominee.. made the night very special for them I felt. Hated Beyonce's dress and that red outfit she wore in the musical sequence.. actually I'm not a huge beyonce fan anyway so I may be a bit biased Didn't understand... where SJP's boobs came from?!?! She doesn't seem to have gained weight anywhere else yet they sure looked bigger.. Didn't like the way they merged all three songs into one and I really think they could have found more songs to nominate. All up I though it was very well done and far mroe entertaining thna previous years.

Haven't you heard of the infamous interview of Joaquin Phoenix on Dave Letterman's show, recently? There's a topic on it right here in this section. You might want to check out post #1.

Or did Slum Dog really triumph on every single artistic level .. over all the other nominees? Example: Two "Best Picture" nominees - 1965: Doctor Zhivago The Sound of Music We know which one won. There you go! I also thought The English Patient was a bit too "hyped up" for what it deserved, the year it won, compared to other films.

Recently, Crash and Titanic I thought were both overrated. I knew Titanic would win, but LA Confidential was a far better movie IMO (my favorite review of Titanic was whoever said that "somewhere in this bloated 3 1/2 hour movie there's a good 90 minute disaster flick struggling to get out"). As a screenwriter, Cameron's a great action director. It's not only recently, either. Ever see "The Greatest Show on Earth?" Best Picture winner I finally saw recently. Glossy, star-driven entertainment and has its moments, but nowhere near the best picture of its year (probably not even in the top 10, looking back). Oscar voters DO get caught up in the trendy pic of the moment (which is how I think Crash won). That said, IMO Slumdog deserved to win as much as any of the others.

I just had NO IDEA thats what he was doing... oh well I still don't think it was that appropriate but at least I understand what was going on..

I would expect someone like him to roast Phoenix, who deserved it! What a whacked-out weirdo he became! Unless .. it's all a publicity stunt. We won't know for a while.

Co. does .. oversaturate the market till the point they kill it .. because people got so sick of it! Gee ... * overkill * saturation ....
