    Although I didn't see all the animated shorts this year, I did see the one that won. It is really good. Comparing it to Presto, though, is kind of difficult ... it's a very moody, artistic, serious film.

    Anne Hathaway sang? And I missed it? WAAAAAAAAH! She sings, BTW, in "Ella Enchanted."

    Cartoonbrew.com is pointing out that the animated feature montage contained scenes from The Clone Wars, which was not even submitted for consideration. If it had been, there would have been 5 nominees for that award instead of 3.

    Congrats to Wall-E, which beat two other really good films. Here's hoping for another animated year as good as 2008 - and with Coraline, we're off to a running start!

    For 73 it was cool how they did it. But I am perplexed how Pitt was nominated and Andy Serkis wasn't a few years back for The Two Towers or Return of the King for essentially doing the same thing.

    I thought I read something somewhere if a film wins Best Editing that's usually an indicator it's going to win Best Picture. So about 90 minutes from now Slumdog Millionare should be taking home top prize. Though that's really not any surprise.
