Sluggo, I can assure you that Kar2oonMan's dog, Buddy, is right. He's a very good man, and he rescued you from goodgirl. Now I know it would take you pretty much the rest of your life to slither all the way up to Oregon to get her, so maybe you should just let this go and return to your happy life in Lisa's kitchen.

Other slugs can also pick up on this same trail creating a slug network to the host plants! Slugs and snails actually both have shells. Slugs' shells are much smaller and not visible as they are underneath the flesh on their back.
Slug eggs are in the soil just about everywhere. They can be there for years and then hatch when conditions are right. It actually takes moisture to allow them to hatch. To identify the eggs look for oval shaped white colored eggs in moist soil areas, under rocks, and boards. Eggs are laid in clusters of two dozen eggs each. The adults also overwinter in the soil and can live for many years. In the Northwest they have banana slugs which are bright yellow, grow to 8 inches with some up to 18 inches!

Slugs have important ecological roles. They help cycle organic matter, which in turns helps to build healthy, rich soil.(1) They also are food for wildlife, including raccoons, possums, garter snakes,(1) toads, turtles, and birds.(2)

It is far too deep! I need waders and have only wellies.

AND the sno-cone ice is completely covered in the stuff.

What to do? What to do?

So while she can startle her victim with her sudden outbursts, no real harm is done.

Simba, on the other hand. . . oh, that sneaky little Simba. Here's this adorable, nervous little chihuahua. He's always been just the sweetest thing, loved all over me on previous encounters, sits on everyone's lap looking helpless. Plus he's had medical issues lately (allegedly, although I, for one, have seen no actual evidence of said health problems). Poor, poor little Simba. I was just thrilled the little guy had weathered his latest health crisis and looked so well. So naturally when he jumped (uninvited) onto my lap, I wanted to show the little dear how much he is loved. So I pet him. I give him a little hug. I become so enchanted that I bend over to tell him how precious he is and RAAHRRRR!! Suddenly I'm bleeding, everyone's shrieking about how I may have just given Simba rabies, and my attacker is sitting on Iceknyght's lap looking pathetic and occasionally shooting me a triumphant sideways glance when no one else is looking.

And yet, AND YET, who was it who rescued him and dried him off after he'd fallen in the pool and was fleeing from Lisann in terror? That's right. Poor old Pixie. There I was, forgiveness in my heart and a warm towel in my hands to scoop him up and dry him off before he could catch his death of cold.

*Sigh* This never would have happened if friendofdd and his sno cone machine had been there.

B..bUT didn't someone say (Litter I think) that Sluggo had not disappeared but had dashed over to that speed dating service??

Chicken I too was confused and being the sweet tender hearted Canadian that I am, it was hard to imagine that lil Litter could be capable of such a crime, I mean jheez..you go to a host's house and reward them with afficting severe trauma to their beloved PETS???

Poor sweet Sluggo is in hiding and dearest darling Simba, well it is too soon to tell if Simba will ever get over the horrors inflicted abon that little angel this weekend.
