The sister - who's been difficult since the beginning - didn't bring her clue, forgot what she was supposed to do after completing the first part of the challenge, and decided to just sit there and wait for another team to arrive. No one ever did, so she finally doubled back to the starting point, which is what she needed to do all along. Oddly, the brother chose to 'come out' on this episode, right before they got bounced off the show. Why bother? As of now, I'm pulling for the snowboarders. They're born-again jesus'y, but they keep a lid on it and go about completing the tasks. I'd say they're the odds-on favorites too - they've come in first more than half the time. Finally, even though TAR is my favorite show, something seems a bit lacking this season. It's not holding me the way it has in the past.

Note they tried to U-turn somebody, when no one else did. Zac's okay, but Laurence has a sort of "entitled" attitude that bugs me, an "I'm a great adventurer, so we ought to win" vibe. Remember, he was the guy who let his very young daughter try to sail solo around the world and then international rescue teams had to save her - and his attitude was basically "well, that's what you people are for" rather than "maybe I shouldn't have let her do that." I'm kind of liking Ernie and Cindy best now, or Bill and Kathi.

As for him coming out on the show, it looked like it was part of an interview done with them either before or after the taping, and the producers just stuck it in where they felt like it fit, which makes it seem that much stranger. It's similar to a couple teams mentioning their connections to kids with special needs a few episodes back. Not related to the race at all, but a semi-interesting side note. I agree that Laurence isn't my favorite person. In addition to just kind of being a jerk about a lot of things, he's also managed to overcomplicate several things that ended up almost costing them the race (navigating to the island, which bus to take, etc). Hopefully he'll do it again, in the smaller racing group, and get eliminated from his own mistake. Kind of a bummer for Zac, but he really doesn't seem to have much of a personality on the show. The snowboarders seem to be very strong competitors, but about half of their wins have come off of other teams' mistakes. Of course, they were close behind to get the win, but I would assume that people would start to figure it out at some point, but maybe not. They seem like likeable guys (I don't think either of them has gotten even mildly upset about anything), so I'm kind of pulling for them.

But the 3 cab drivers had been working together, and so Jeremy & Sandy's driver told the other 2 drivers where they really needed to go. Had they not shared info, perhaps one of the teams would have ended up out of the way and allowed the snowboarders a chance to catch up.
