But you keep pointing out that no one cares about the Peoplemover, and I am just saying that here's at least 1 guy that DOES care (or at least DID care).
Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "Well, if you want to know, I do! And that's my point." And I think that's Dean's point as well. Still, a handful of people isn't justification for reviving a long defunct attraction. I like the Peoplemover as much as the next Disney fan, however it's obvious to me that it's not an attraction that resonates with the average visitor, especially when there are plenty of other modes of transport available that allow you to view the park. "Just because there are other modes of transportation doesn't mean that I still didn't enjoy the Peoplemover, or that I still don't enjoy it in WDW." While the Monorail is not the Peoplemover, you can still survey parts of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland from above while on board. If all else fails you can go to the Magic Kingdom and get the real deal. Or the Vegas airport. Or JFK. Or SFO. Or downtown Miami. Or West Virginia University. Or London Heathrow. The list goes on and on. As Tasha correctly pointed out Disneyland Park doesn't really need the Peoplemover or anything similar.

As I keep saying, the question came up - who care about the Peoplemover? And I keep saying that I enjoyed it for what it was, and continue to enjoy it in the World. I ride the train every morning to work here in Dallas. And while it's efficient, it just ain't the same as the Peoplemover. It had (and has) a charm all it's own.

I want to try to say something in respect to Hans, (not to mention those on his side of the fence with this) .... But this argument that a futuristic Peoplemover design in TL is not futuristic, and entertaining .... Would be like somebody saying - Fusion reactors have been invented (though 25 years away to build) are no longer futuristic. Hubble discovered a planet several light years away ... so planet "exploration" is no longer futuristic. Hover craft has been invented for the military ... so therefore .. even though we are still decades to centuries away from pedestrian usage .. it's no longer futuristic. Hans .. maybe in your daily life .. you use enough public transportation that it's all hold-hat to you. But you don't seem to give anyone with creative know-how a chance, the benefit of the doubt, to create something entertaining to travel around in Tomorrowland. Fact is .... I have no doubt there's plenty of imagination to do something cool. The problem is really - cal/OSHA and money. Its' not from a lack of imagination. I don't believe that for a minute. A simple google search can punch in so many great concepts that are DECADES away from realization.

If they brought out the same '1967' design. But anyone with half a brain knows their intention is to do something entirely new and different.

But you don't seem to give anyone with creative know-how a chance, the benefit of the doubt, to create something entertaining to travel around in Tomorrowland.” I think it’s ironic that you keep talking about creativity and imagination and yet you keep repeating the same argument that new ingenuity be applied to a concept that is 40 + years old. Are you simply doing this just for the sake of it? While it would be nice if they did something with the empty tracks, Disneyland doesn’t need a peoplemover ride of any sort and I think the reasons given earlier are valid. Personally I wish they’d just tear the tracks down. Fact is .... I have no doubt there's plenty of imagination to do something cool” How can it be “new and different” and be the Peoplemover at the same time? “Please let this effort go.” I second that emotion.
