I really have no problems with you saying bad things about Obama. You probably know VASTLY more about him than I do. Those opinions are fine...I have read your posts about Chicago politics and learned a lot. It just seems like you seem to post a lot more "I can't post negative things about Obama cos you think he's a Messiah" rants than actually posting negative things about Obama. I understand that your perspective in the world is different than mine. But your reaction seems like an overreaction within the limits of LP. At some point, your accusations don't feel like they are about the world at large but about LP. Maybe I'm being too defensive but you've been called on this for MONTHS and yet you still insist on doing it. When called on it, you backtrack and say it's not us but other people. Perhaps battle the ones who are doing it on their turf?

All I can do is take you at the things you're posting but you're attributing many things to me that I have never once stated on this forum. I don't think Obama is a Messiah. I don't think he's brilliant or 100% honest or whatever. He's a politician. I don't trust politicians. My biggest feeling about Obama is "finally, Bush is gone. Maybe I can stop caring about politics again". That's my biggest relief. Bush is gone and people seem to be inspired by our current President. That's a great thing and I hope Obama uses this opportunity wisely. That's it. That's hardly worship.

They were when they were caught drinking. And for the record, I thought your quip was funny. That wasn't the point of my comments to you.

I don't know what you're talking about on this one.

***obviously I just don't need to comment at all..***

    Spare me.

Then I seen a some of the content and thought it was a bit suspect, THEN I seen it was published in the WSJ and I rolled my eyes.

Nice intent if it was a genuine attempt, wrong format in which to do it in my opinion. However, I'm sure only political junkies like us in WE are getting all torched about it.

    I know, I'm a cynic. I can't help it.

But I would feel this way no matter who did it. I actually kind of like Laura Bush and so I do not dislike her daughters. I don't really know that much about them. I don't think their early "troubles" were indicative of deeper problems. I'm not going to judge them for underaged drinking especially at this late date.

But the fact that they put their letter in the paper just ruins the intent for me. I doubt it was even their own idea...most likely an advisor or publicist thought it would be cute.

As far as their early "troubles" they were no different than thousands of college age kids.

Oh, definitely. That's why I'd never judge them on it. Besides, I don't even think they were drunk when they were caught. Didn't one have a beer and one try to get into a bar when she was 20? I'm shocked. SHOCKED.

If you find a really, really, really tiny little spoon on the plane or in the house or anything, it's not part of the Wite House china, it's mine!

So, bring it back to the next big funeral and give it back to me, ok?

Best of luck with the wars!

p.s. anything with a forty-one on it is my Dad's stuff. But you can keep that! hehhe.
