I have seen a couple at special events (there are awards shows, tv episodes, and commercials filming in my area all the time), but I haven't really gotten up close and personal. That's not real racing...they're hardly moving. What I was talking about was IRL, the Indy Racing League. It's the type of cars (and drivers, of course) who race in the Indy 500 and related races. The cars look similar to Formula 1, but are a little different (I think IRL cars tended to be more angled and less rounded, and have a higher height). NASCAR is just icky all around... For what it's worth, I'm traveling half way across the country this weekend to see a women's college hockey club team play. It's hardly NHL, but it should be fun none the less.
