All will be fine once a white man in is back in the White House. Having Obama as president in America is kind of like having an 8 year long full moon in a nation full of werewolves.

Especially a white woman married to a prior president who is still reviled by conservatives.

    Should be a fun ride.

I don't know if that would have been true in '08, however with the way things are now you may be right. Also, I really hate saying this because it sounds like I'm stirring the race pot, but you really should have placed the words "old" and "white" at the beginning of that sentence.

I'm seriously wondering why you haven't been booted from this site yet.

    <a target="blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/comment/2013/09/meadows-boehner-defund-obamacare-suicide-caucus-geography.html">http://www.newyorker.com/onlin...phy.html</a>

In the excellent article linked above, Ryan Lizza describes details about how a group of 80 congressmen, which he calls the "suicide caucus", petitioned Boehner in August to shut down the government in a dispute over spending. More importantly he also reveals these startling statistics:

"The members of the suicide caucus live in a different America from the one that most political commentators describe when talking about how the country is transforming. The average suicide-caucus district is seventy-five per cent white, while the average House district is sixty-three per cent white. Latinos make up an average of nine per cent of suicide-district residents, while the over-all average is seventeen per cent. The districts also have slightly lower levels of education (twenty-five per cent of the population in suicide districts have college degrees, while that number is twenty-nine per cent for the average district).

The members themselves represent this lack of diversity. Seventy-six of the members who signed the Meadows letter are male. Seventy-nine of them are white."

How is it even possible that a group of (mostly) men, who only represent just 18% of the US population, have enough influence to shut the government down indefinitely and put THE ENTIRE COUNTRY in such a terrible mess?

Sigh ... Because people respond to him instead of reporting stuff like that post to the mods.

    >>Seventy-nine of them are white.<<

Dare I ask who the other knucklehead was?

Why has this guy not been banned yet, exactly?

Isn't obnoxious racism against the TOS somewhere?

No... none here. The wackiest politician in this area was Senate candidate Todd Akin, and he went so far over the edge that McCaskill won in an election that everyone in the country thought the Democrats would lose.

Of course that was a statewide election and included liberal votes from Kansas City and St. Louis. In the county where I live, Akin would have easily won. In fact I just checked... in Christian County (great name, huh?) Akin beat McCaskill 54% - 38%.
