You did bring up a good point about using the LP logo, I hadn't considered that a piece of paper, with the LP logo on it, might possibly abuse the relationship between LP and Disney. None of us wants to see that. I also would be far more worried about a folded paper or paper envelope, that would conceal the contents, rather than a clear plastic sleeve, such as those used for bank passbooks and U.S. passports, where the contents are clearly visible as being innocuous. The Disney dollar would be highly visible and these sleeves are not even sealed. The worst thing that might happen is that a CM or non-LP'er might find it and remove the Disney Dollar. For all I know, the CM's might think it's funny and add their own names too. I think the LP/DL treasure hunt is a fine continuation, in the same spirit of fun, of the game that alexbook started.

I'm not suggesting using LP abuses their relationship w/DL; rather that we try to make non-LP-sanctioned events clear that they're not official LP events. After reading Kira's post tho, I'd guess it's against policy to hide anything in DL, so I would proceed cautiously. I think the Alex that started the other game was not alexbook.

I re-read Kira's post and, although I wouldn't doubt that Disney may have a policy regarding this, the circumstances were completely different. That object was a black box, which was very suspicious, and Disney acted in a very appropriate manner to protect the guests. We are agreed that,if someone chooses to do this, there should be no connection to LP. I think it would be a lot of fun but should be kept at a very low profile. I would think also, that if attention were called to it, Disney would have to take some sort of action on it.

The Orange County sheriff's bomb squad declared the incident a false alarm after deploying a robot equipped with an X-ray that determined the object was not an explosive. "We don't know whether it was an elaborate hoax or just something left behind," said John Nicoletti, Anaheim city spokesman, who was at the scene. The incident did not delay Disneyland's scheduled 9 a.m. opening, but patrons were unable to visit such Tomorrowland attractions as Club Buzz, Innoventions and Starcade until 9:30 a.m. Officials said that the landscaper found the object around 7 a.m. at the bottom of a staircase. He notified security personnel, who in turn called police. Police summoned the bomb squad.>>> I can't find any 'official' news sites with the story anymore since it happened in 2004. But basically it was a toy phone inside of some sort of container in place for the GPS game Geocache with something for people to log that they have found it an dleft it in place. I know a plastic or glass tube wouldn't seem like much of a threat, but you never know these days =)

Like you said, one wouldn't think something like that could be much of a threat but it's a strange world we live in these days. It's a shame too. It sounded like so much fun. I loved the VMK quests and this had the promise of being equally enjoyable.
