Absolutely- they should be investing in deteriorating infrastructure and maintenance (in fact, they have spent (and are spending) over $25 million on all of the facade refurbs). But only a small, small sliver of that $1.5 billion is going to the Sorcerer's game. The rest of the money is divided between remodeled queues (with some of that budget going to infrastructure, possibly including, if I'm not mistaken, perhaps the Big Thunder queue building) and a myriad of technology for Disney to mine guest data (and marginally improve the guest experience in the process). While I'm not in favor of NextGen for its purpose (Disney keeping tabs on everything I do), the Sorcerers game is being painted as the Sum of all Evils when it's really nothing more than a game for kids (and to emphasize this again...they are *not* spending $1.5 billion on a scavenger hunt. That is pure hyperbole.)

Honestly, there are so many legitimate things that people should be demanding from Disney. Free WiFi, refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms at no extra charge. Enough space in the rooms themselves to change your mind without having to go outside. You folks talk about whether or not an attraction is E or not, and it is about time that you talk amongst yourselves about the fact that you are the only ones who care. The vast majority of today's guests have no clue about E tickets or what they mean. Let's get in line behind some basic stuff like I mentioned in the last paragraph. Otherwise you are all wasting a lot of air over stuff that has no chance in hell of ever happening or in this case ever being good enough to satisfy everyone. I, for example, love the parks but you couldn't force me at gun point to spend money on any overpriced, under amenitied rooms simply because there is a 5 foot mouse patrolling the hallways. Yet, people willingly and happily do so by the thousands every day. Disney knows its audience and they are doing everything they need to maintain the volume that by all accounts keeps going up, not the opposite. MK needs an E attraction like a drowning man needs a bucket of water thrown at him. There is no room for people now, what would they do with the folks that would be drawn to a new major attraction. What they needed was more room and a couple of more places to disperse the crowd, hence the expansion of the toontown area. Everyone is concentrating on such minor stuff that they failed to notice a brand new dark ride and a brand new coaster. Would it have been a better idea to just have left it as Pooh's playground? Losing Snow White's Scary Adventure isn't much of a loss. I went there exactly once in 28 years, saw all I needed to see and never returned. Why? Nothing there worth seeing even the first time, much less any subsequent visits. Is a meet and greet a good replacement? Not to me but a lot of people are really into that experience. If they like it, they will return and that is the nature of the theme park business.

And who knows? Your taste in dark rides might've changed in the nearly three decades since you rode it for the first time.

I don't like the interaction at the haunted mansion but I like the ride. EVERYONE SHOULD DO WHAT THE MOST ENJOY AND IT'S NOBODY'S BUSINESS WHAT THEY DO WITH THEIR TIME. The only thing Disney should do is maintain the place and keep the parks open later, like they used to do.

NOTHING will bring 20K back. BTW, that also goes for the old Imagination Ride, Horizons, WoM and WoL. Gone...not gonna return, time to move on and make a good experience out of what is there now.

But if they want to set up some little iphone scavenger hunt thing in the theme parks, then I say go for it. At least it keeps the kids out of pool halls, and possibly out of line to make my wait time shorter as well. What harm could it do, really? It's not like the Magic Kingdom has had an E Ticket for 20 years, so I doubt it will somehow stop the next E Ticket that is not currently planned or budgeted from showing up any earlier.

A little game that most people will never notice (like Kim Possible) that will be played by maybe 10% of the guests will be the end of the Magic Kingdom? Time to stop smoking crack... that stuff ain't good for you!

My only problem with it is that with Merlin and Magic as it's theme, wouldn't someplace in FL be a better place to HQ it than a turn of the century Firehouse? As to new E-Tickets and staleness. I understand that there is little desire at Disney to add a major E-Ticket to their most attended park. But they should at least keep the place fresh with new parades, fireworks, and entertainment. Not a 40 year old night parade, 11 year old day parade, and 10 year old fireworks show. Along with cutting streetmosphere. But since WDW's entertainment dept is so incompetant (Stitch's Supersonic Celebration/ Cinderellabration) I can see the reluctance to try something new without haveing adult supervision from Burbank.
