And I vent here because I KNOW who's reading. <<I understand there is a certain feeling you get when you go to any of the disney parks, trust me I get that same feeling too, thats why I am at WDW every week.>> Some might say if you're at WDW every week that you should get a life, unless you work there. I love WDW, but there's no way I'd want to visit every week even if I were a local. <<Now if you think calling me names gets your point across about your loyalty to disney, by all means, I give you a list of the names kids used to call me in high school. But I don't think it does. >> I don't want to call you any names. I just don't want to be disrespected and told I don't know what I'm talking about when I do. If you'd actually read here you might learn that I'm right about things a heck of a lot more than I'm wrong. <<Disney is going to do whatever they are going to do; build twenty more theme parks, close tomorrow, declare bankruptcy, buy-out universal, ect. And it has nothing to do with you. Just let them be, its a theme park!!!! I am very capable of having an adult conversation, so lets not forget you are the one who started attacking me in the beginning of this forum. Unless you have a disney nametag, don't claim to know something.>> You say you're capable of engaging in intelligent adult discussion and then you state something like this. And, no, you're way off. Most of the time, it's the folks wearing the nametags that are the last to know, except perhaps about the attraction, hotel or area they're working. CMs are notorious for NOT being right and stating wild unfounded rumors, many that they post on sites like this and wind up taking on lives of their own. <<And trust me, I am a lot closer to the company than you think.>> Dating Goofy doesn't count! <<And I don't think it is right that you keep bringing in the fact that you speak to managers and imagineers and thats how you get your info, thats unprofessional.>> Kid, don't give me a lesson on professionalism. In the real world, I'd have you for lunch. Getting facts from the people who know is unprofessional? What kind of screwed up logic is that? Should I get my info. from the folks who either make the decisions, implement them and plan them or should I get it from the Al Lutz, Jim Hill and Honor Hunter's of the world? <<You keep blaming chipped paint and poor maintnence on what you think are decaying theme parks, I think it is guests like you that bring the parks down.>> Yes. Guilty as charged. I chip the paint. I also throw stuff on the pavement. Spill drinks on hotel carpeting and generally trash the place. Let's keep this our little secret. <<And if you think disney is more concerned with locals and ap holders rather than the family of five who only comes once a year and is going spend as much money as 50 ap members, you are still living in neverland.>> Guess what? I spend more in a year at WDW than the that family who comes once a year. It's just not all in one shot. And I'll keep coming when our recession finally becomes official unlike that family of five. You really lack common sense here. This isn't (or shouldn't be) difficult to understand. I'd love to know what my Mouse tab has been just in the last quarter of a century since APs have been offered vs. what you term the 'average guest' ... I guarantee you that I have spent exponentially more... <<P.S. so sorry you are not gracing WDW with a visit this week, so you can run back to your computer and whine about everything the castmembers and imagineers are doing wrong. Did I mention Universal is down the block, there are a thousand issues there you could complain about >> I have APs to all Uni parks in the USA, and I complain where I see fit, just like I praise. There are many things Uni does better than Disney and many things they don't. But they do offer a very high quality product despite what some Mouse worshippers believe. Now, are you done yet? Or do you actually have something intelligent to offer?

Thats part of the fun of going to a theme park. However, when I go to a theme park, I also expect some rides. I dont think it would ruin World Showcase's ambiance to add some good rides . It would probably enhance it!

But it doesn't matter because as MPierce will tell you, I'm right anyway ;-)

Fewer than 10M people came from Western Europe to ALL OF THE UNITED STATES in 2006. In comparison, WDW theme park attendance in 2006 was a shade over 45M. http://www.themeit.com/attenda nce_report2006.pdf It would be nice to be able to appeal to the Continent's longer vacations as the basis for building a fifth gate, the data simply doesn't support it. There are no "hordes".

If something is wrong you fix it, or if youre not in control, you make suggestions on how to fix it. Thats what this is. By the way, im still not hooked on a fifth gate. Fix what you got, especially MK and DHS.

If you go to a resturant and don't like it, you don't go back. I think some people should apply that logic to the disney parks. Some have said that they criticize when need be and compliment also, but there are no compliments. everything here is negative. I have not seen a post start with 'how cool was that parade or show' or 'those decorations were fantastic!' Everything is 'I can't believe disney did this or did that, the lights were too bright, there were too many seagulls in frontierland'. My point is this, if you want to criticize disney when it deserves it, by all means do so, these are open forums, but give credit when credit is due, and no one here does that.

I'm thinking of calling it MouseStalks.com ... Stalking the Disney Mid-Level Managers, One At a Time! <<HA!! i think i just got why you are the "Spirit of 74". And I don't want to be harsh because you are new and don't know the history of myself or some of the others you view as being hypercritical. We LOVE WDW! If we didn't, we wouldn't still go and go often. It's just we were there often in the 70s, 80s and 90s and KNOW things were better in many aspects like cleanliness, upkeep, show quality and freshness. So, yeah, we take shots. We do so the same way you might have a problem with a member of your family, but you don't stop loving them. <<Some have said that they criticize when need be and compliment also, but there are no compliments. everything here is negative. Everything is 'I can't believe disney did this or did that, the lights were too bright, there were too many seagulls in frontierland'.>> I'd just suggest you haven't been around here long enough. I was effusive in praise after my last trip for things like the Mansion redo, MNSSHP and the great new decorations on Main Street, the Food and Wine Fest, 10/1 at EPCOT etc ... and those are just a few examples. I think the negative things stick with people longer. I'm not sure why. I also don't understand why people take things personally. If you never visited the MK prior to say 2002, when I tell you in many ways it is a pale shadow of itself, you'll naturally (and perhaps rightly) think I'm crazy. But if you read what I am saying and basing it upon, you'll understand. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy the MK now or that it isn't a fantastic place to spend a day. It just means that, for me, way too many of the details that made Disney, Disney, have been taken away in endless rounds of budget trimming. That's all. Hell, I don't think I've ever uttered a negative word about DAK for example. Like I said, stick around, read, and then see if you think I'm still overly harsh. <<My point is this, if you want to criticize disney when it deserves it, by all means do so, these are open forums, but give credit when credit is due, and no one here does that.>> We do. Often. Read.
