TDLFan started a nice thread not long ago where he couldn't stop gushing about the new castle lights. And this is soooo unTDLFan-like. So it must be good.
One thing that some younger fans don't get is that WDW used to be nicer, cleaner, and the CMs were more tight and attentive. Everything, not just WDW, is considerably more slack and in your face rude than it was in the 70s. WDW isn't isolated from national trends. It also doesn't help that Disney management is paying for lower quality labor to start with.

I wouldn't advise you do this if you want to keep the magic in your eyes, but taking a Quality Control Walk around the parks with TDLFAN and myself and can very illuminating as to what has changed for the worse ... and sometimes the better too.

I've taken all types of spirited tours.

How else can you stalk the head of Main Street merchandise? ;-)

I'm usually the one telling him the latest Disney gossip.

That's why my track record here is so good. I get the info from the horse's mouth so to speak.

That's why I get ticked when people fight me on things I know to be true or not true.

And maybe your cousin either doesn't know or just doesn't want you posting what he knows? ... You'd be amazed at the lengths people will go through to hide things at Disney.

A friend almost lost an arm when peeking into the room where the new Japan attraction's model for EPCOT is located.

Othe things, like DVC at the Contemporary, they're perfectly fine to see leaked and discussed here because they can use the information and will!

Sometimes I wonder why he still works at Disney. He must be making pretty good money with good benefits. There are also the perks. Like, he got to travel with a group to help open Disneyland Paris. Still, he doesn't even like to visit the parks because of the crowds.

Sounds familiar. My daughter also works at Team Disney and quite often hears things first from me. <G>

Of that, I am sure. Team Disney isn't the best place to get information unless you happen to know (or have something?) on the assistant to an executive.

Generally, you get better info from the people who live the parks and resorts daily and don't sit in a building miles away.

<<Besides that, he's not a Disney freak like me and doesn't really care about rumors. Sometimes I wonder why he still works at Disney.>>

Working at Disney can take the magic away very, very quickly.

I know far more ex-CMs (on many levels) than current CMs. What does that tell you? (other than knowing the Spirit maybe harmful to your Disney career ;) )

<<He must be making pretty good money with good benefits.>>

Disney doesn't pay that well for an entertainment company. They've always had that rep going back to Walt's day and it's always been true ... they believe you should want to work for less money to work for the Mouse!

But, if you're a fulltime employee, their benefits package is great and really makes up for the pay deficiency.

<<There are also the perks. Like, he got to travel with a group to help open Disneyland Paris.>>

I know some people that did likewise and really enjoyed it, while others said it was hell. Seems to me that it's exciting as anything to open a Disney park in the USA so it must be even more exciting to introduce a whole new market to Disney.
