I say it's okay to give in to the craving as long as it is in moderation. Your body wants something for a reason...might as well listen to it as long it isn't harmful to you.

True! ^^ When I was seeing a nutritionist to help me diet, she allowed me free weekends to give-in to some of those temptations. It really helped get me thru the week knowing that I just had to make it to the weekend.....Then...It was PIZZA and BEER TIME!

Right now it is vodka and triple sec time. With some mint chocolate chip ice cream and thin mint Girl Scout cookies.
Whether or not I have just gently relapsed with a free couple of days; will be seen in how I do tomorrow.
The stress level could lessen or triple tomorrow and all we can do is wait.

    Thanks.
It looks like things may be leveling out.
So far today my food is good and I am about to do some exercise.

Things are actually looking up. Hopefully some camping will help get us both on a better track.

I've effectively cut out the majority of snacks at work...with the exception of today because I brought treats in for the troops because we have had a rough month or so. Do I feel better about cutting out the snacks? Ehhh...I can't really tell the difference yet, but I know it SHOULD make a difference if I stay away from temptation.

I wish I lived on a mountain. It is so flat and hot here that a simple walk is rarely enjoyable. While we were in the Redwoods we climbed mountains everyday. We could eat and drink a little more with the extra exercise. Our last excursion was through the Oregon Caves and afterward we climbed the mountain on top of the cave.
I managed to lose 2 pounds over 8 days.

Did you make it out to the Oregon Vortex? That's a fun little place in the same vicinity. At least you dropped a couple of pounds. I'm still attempting to hold out on the snacks at work...some days are better than others, but I'm thinking things will improve once we get our new boss on board and we don't have to deal directly with our micromanaging director.

Here I go again![IMG] I am on my third day of moderate eating and only one glass of wine a day. I have lost 2 pounds!
The stress has been so overwhelming that food and alcohol have been our biggest escape. I hit the highest weight I have ever reached. Most of my summer shorts could not be zipped. I have had enough!!!!!!!!!!
Three days is usually the first milestone where it becomes easier to stick with it.

I hear you @iamsally !! I've been doing the same thing these past few months w/ food and a bit of additional wine here and there instead of just on the weekends. I seem to do pretty good when I am at work because I bring my food in, but when I'm having "a day" it can be a bit too easy to go down the street to Mi Mero Mole for a tamale with black beans and chips/salsa for lunch.

Hanging in there. Had chicken soup (homemade) for breakfast. Actually really hit the spot.
But now we are suddenly leaving for WA on Friday and will be gone about 3 weeks. I always go with the best of intentions but end up eating/drinking too much. Will really work on walking the hills of Renton or hitting the gym every other day.

It will be a long wave as we are taking the 97 to Yakima first. (Anniversary party for some former LPers.) Then on to Renton and finishing up with a camping trip the last weekend of September. (We will wave on the way home.)[IMG]

About 4 pounds down this AM. But tonight is family pizza night at John's. I have a battle plan that I am pretty sure I can stick to. It is a buffet so lots of salad, baked potato and chili, one pizza slice and absolutely NO root beer float.

It's smart to go in with a game plan for a dinner like that. My game plan for tonight is not as good as yours because I'm going wine tasting with a coworker at a friend of ours new wine bar. Not going to beat myself up about that though because I know tomorrow will be a different story since I will be sitting at the hospital while Steve has his gall bladder removed, so any good thoughts you could send our way would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you have a safe and fun trip to Renton. I like that area more than Seattle now...LOL!

I like Seattle but Renton has a great Farmer's Market we can walk to. (Darn, I think it is done for the season.) And there is 8BIT downtown where vintage video games can be played for $.25. I can still get my initials in Tetras and Centipede! I am looking forward to a couple of days of camping on a lake. Hopefully it will not be raining like 2 years ago.
Last night I lost it a little with 2 pieces of peanut butter/pepperoni pizza. But I stuck to the salad and baked potato with chili (yikes and a butter soaked breadstick). There was nothing I could drink but I found some lemons and I had stevia so I made my own lemonade. Today has been a vegetable soup day.

Not real happy but have yet to find a way to actually lose weight while traveling/visiting. I have remained stable so I guess I should be grateful for that.
