I tend to believe the first one because the source was fairly reliable at the time. Though stranger things have happened in business.

At present the Showcase is the most beautiful outdoor dining/shopping/entertainment mall in the United States and that is just how I like it.

The Showcase is one place at WDW where you can almost always find a place to just sit and relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and soak up the atmosphere. I'd hate to see that change... it is what makes Epcot unique among the U.S. Disney Parks.

However I think the ride based on a Pixar movie shouldn't be added to that country.

And movies do not make up for an attraction. If Disney ever had a "movie" park then EPCOT is their movie park. I do like a few offerings that EPCOT has over some of the other parks. EPCOT has several festivals during the year when various music groups come in and preform for guests. Nice touch! Another great thing about the World Showcase is that there is plenty of land available for more rides and attractions. My understand is that there are several countries like South Korea that would gladly come in and build a pavalion in the World Showcase as their expense if only Disney would let them do it. Apparently there is at least one country out there willing to foot the bill.

South Korea approached Disney, offering to pay for a pavilion, but Disney said no, opining that no one would be interested in it.
