I personally don't like the "too skinny" look. (And I think Anne Hathaway comes across as a real sweetheart!)

As a fellow "thin" person (although I am MUCH shorter then Keira) I feel I should defend her somewhat. I find it highly unlikely that she has any sort of eating disorder. It is possible for people to be naturally thin and NOT have an eating disorder. I know my story probably isnt close to what Keira's may be, but then again maybe it is, who knows. When the first movie premiered I believe Keira was 18 at the time (I am the same age as her only she was born a few months ahead), yes I've seen the pictures where she looked a bit "fuller" as you could say, during the first premiere but give the girl a break she had baby fat she was still growing out of. I myself was a bit chubbier at the age of 18 and by the time I turned 20 last summer my body rapidly lost my baby fat and caused speculation amoung my family that I had a eating disorder. I went from 118 pounds (I know its not chubby or "fat" but for me it was my heaviest weight ever) to a measly 100 pounds. It was really disappointing that my family members thought I had a eating disorder just because I suddenly lost weight due to body change and I had to defend myself against them which was the worst part. I don't know if this is what happened to Keira and her body but I find it a more probable story. Everyone continusly grows and everyone's bodies are always changing. So why is it that someone like Keira can't change either? Having people think you have an eating disorder is hurtful especially if you are the type of person that would never even think about doing that to your body. So now Keira shows up in a revealing gown at the age of 21, with her chest covered in either sweat or some sort of baby oil and it makes her ribs stand out but when you look at her back you see a normal back and from the pictures I saw I didn't see any ribs. Yes, she probably weighs only 100 pounds soaking wet, but cut the girl some slack shes one of the tallest actresses in hollywood and is naturally thin. If you were that tall and had a fast metabolism and were naturally thin I think you would look like that too. I know I'm totally on a soapbox and maybe over reacting about this and I'm not defending her because she's my favorite actress, because truthfully she isn't. I just find it sad that people debate these kind of things instead of worrying about their own health or worrying about the ones that truely do have eating disorders. If it does turn out that she does have an eating disorder then ya'll can call me on it. But until then I feel bad for Keira.

Of course I'm not saying that every thin girl has an issue. Obviously our society has a lot of women well-screwed up while others are unaffected. I still stand by what I said earlier in this thread, that in some interviews about her weight (why do people ask this anyway, HOW RUDE!!!) she sounds almost too defensive, then again, there are plenty of healthy naturally thin people out there. It used to be that talking about it was taboo. Now maybe too much talk has swung it the wrong way and hopefully we can find a happy medium.
Originally Posted By Liberty Belle >>I know it's a fact of Hollywood, but that doesn't mean it should happen<< Oh, I completely agree and I didn't mean to make it sound like I think it's right. To the contrary, I think it would be *really* hard being an actress nowadays: if you put on weight, you're on the cover of magazines as having "piled it on" and if you lose weight, you're anorexic. Having seen some more pictures of Keira, I really think it's the dress that doesn't flatter her and she probably doesn't have an eating disorder, although it's hard to say.

And of course Jessica Alba. As for the whole "skinny" thing in Hollywood, I'm not really down with it either. And like people said it could be the dress that wasn't flattering. And Keira is a very good actress, but if she gained twenty pounds I certainly wouldn't think less of her. What would that put her up to about 125-130. Nothing wrong that nothing whatsover. But give me a girl who'll go out for beer and pizza instead of one who eats alfalfa sprouts and water anytime.
