You put your feet in two big metal shoes and stand with your hands on your hips and push your feet out as if you are skating. I always choose the ice rink option. You can do it as if you are skating around different areas, with dips and lumps, but I prefere the flat one. It advertises itself as the "only lateral thigh trainer"
