That's what I find so amusing about all the "We burn a Quran while these people KILL us!" outrage, as if that justifies it. I thought the whole point was our way of government, our values, and our Democracy were the best? I know I certainly believe that. I'm not some politically correct hippie who insists that radical Islamic countries are just "different." I think they're despicable. I think Burkas are appalling and I think what happens to Christians in some of these countries is outlandish. So why on earth try to mimic even a tiny part of these places by saying we don't want a certain type of church near a certain other type of place because it hurts our feelings? Allowing a mosque (this isn't a mosque, BTW) at Ground Zero is a triumph of American values and a defeat of the kind of homogeny the Taliban want.

As far as safety I'd rather enter Iran holding a Bible than get caught romantically holding hands with a man. How anybody with a shred of decency could spend money in places like Dubai or Saudie is beyond me.

Well, some of the oil used to create the power you use probably came from one of those countries. In fact, our entire way of life here in the West empowers the horrible governments that we claim to despise. THAT is the sad truth - we enable all that crap by using resources and products created in countries that treat their people like garbage - but no one seems to care here. They just want their new car, or computer, or shoes, etc; and screw the people that are suffering so that we can get cheap goods.
