I was thinking only of the park opening at the train station with characters.<< It was part of the character arrival at the train station; but it lead to Mickey or someone (I've tried to forget) asking the Mayor and 7/8 other 'human' dancers to open the park and then they all (Mayor & human dancers) start doing disco, with very grating vocals, up on the verenda. This would have been, hmm, maybe March 2004. I haven't been to a MK opening since. I suspect, from our conversation, that they cut that part out. That dancing part, not the overall ceremony, was the part that caused most people to scratch their heads.

We have a Mayor of Mediterranean Harbor, who was originally the emcee of the Porto Paradiso water Carnival and was avail for pics with guests around Mediterranean Harbor. The first actor to play the park was the former big boy (as in heavy set) D/MGM CM who used to do comic skits with SAKS Theater before they were let go from WDW, and the same guy we saw in the Full House episode they shot at WDW several years ago. Now that's some interestring trivia.
