    Disney's Animal Kingdom: 9.68 million
    Disney's Hollywood Studios: 9.6 million
    TOTAL: Just under 47 million
Universal's Islands of Adventure: 5.94 million
    Universal Studios Florida: 5.92 million
    TOTAL: Just under 12 million

Now, in light of the facts (47 million vs. 12 million), explain how this shows that many, if not most guests heading to Florida are now including Universal in their trip.<<<

First of all, you have to have something over a period of time to compare it too. All that tells you is that for 2010 WDW was King. Now if you can compare 2011 numbers with 2010 numbers then we might be able to see a trend developing. This would be the year of the big change.

With the information given...how do we know that in 2009 WDW might have had 50 Mil. vs. Uni's 9 Mil. That might also show a trend. One years statistics show nothing about trend.

I don't think anyone is saying no one went from Disney to IOA- that would make no sense- a lot ofpeople are theme park fans period

But are some of those peole 'new fans' just because of Potter- I would also say yes.

Also the premise people are giving up Disney days for that may or may not be accurate. We did not do that- we added a day to our trip as did a few others i know. Did some cut a day or two off Disney for IOA now- I am sure they did

I don't think there's any one scenario that fits across the board.

In all my years of travelling I had never heard that before. Usually it was...we are going to Disney and maybe another park if we have time. But I have been truly shocked at the number of people I have talked to in the airport or on a plane who are skipping Disney. So much so I said something to a friend in upper mgmt at Disney. They are aware.

I would also say vbdad, that you are not the average traveler. You are a proud DVC owner, a big Disney fan and the proud father of a Disney CM. I don't think you or I are good examples of the average Orlando traveler.

Yup. Since 2008 I've flown to Orlando 2-3 times a year. Since Potter opened I've seen more people going to Universal for their trips than Disney.

Actually, Disney hasn't said ANYTHING about attendance figures in writing. That has been left up to others.

What I do not believe is that most guests traveling to Orlando are now skipping days at Disney to head over to UNI. There is plenty of anecdotal information that some guests are doing just that. But "many" (a very subjective term) is doubtful, and "most" is just plain wrong, based on the statistics.

    That's all.

There you go, bringing logic into this. Isn't that like bringing a gun to a knife fight?
