I would love it if the long lift hill traveled through some stunningly beautiful caverns with glittering, shimmering icy stalactites and stalagmites. Using the architectural mapping projection effect, as the bobsleds near the top of the lift hill, the ice would seem to come crashing down. It would be better than the "snowstorm" effect that is there now that isn't very effective, and, would certainly add an extra bit of excitement.

OR The fewer people wanting to ride the Matterhorn, the fewer who get wet in my Bobsled.

I just hope that the new sleds are more comfortable. >>What I would love is a real bobsledding experience. Or something closer than what we're getting, which is an aging roller coaster.<< Back in the 1980's, Magic Mountain had a "bobsled" type ride called Sarajevo Bobsleds where the vehicles traveled in "troughs" like bobsleds, except that the vehicles were on wheels rather than sliding on a slick surface. It was moved to Six Flags over Texas after two or three years. I didn't think it was all that exciting. I suppose it could be if it went around the Matterhorn, but, I seriously doubt the lawyers would let that kind of ride system fly at Disneyland. This is a description of the ride as it exists now at Six Flags over Texas - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Vibora

Anyway, I agree that it's not nearly as exciting as it sounds, mostly due to the overly cautious design. While I don't think I'd want a dangerous ride either, the coaster itself was similar in size and intensite to Gadget's Go-Coaster, but it probably didn't go as fast. A fun experience once or twice, but I don't feel like I've been missing anything for not having ridden one in 10+ years.

Although, at least when I was there, they didn't have AC in it! Which was okay when you were moving, but man that lift hill was awfully hot.

Same general ride experience, but a slightly different look. The AC was out when I was there, too, so I don't think it was just an off day. It definitely didn't feel like the absolute zero of real space in that lift hill! And if I'm not mistaken, I believe that Jim in Merced, CA was (is still?) in the preshow video for that one.
