One is the green and white dress she wears at the beginning. The other is the red dress Rhett insists she wear to Ashley's birthday party. I'd just love to have a reason to wear something like that. <sigh>

I was much thinner than. I was in heaven! I'll have to dig those pictures out.

    LOL!!!

That's so cool that you got to try on those dresses! They have one of those Old Time Studios here; I should just go and try something on and get my picture taken just for fun.

When you say they had the dresses displayed, do you mean the dresses from the movie? Or what I was talking about above?

Sure, they're beautiful, but you have to wear your bloomers, a chemise, a corset, a hoop-skirt, then the dress itself which can be all of like 10 yards worth of fabric, most of that in the skirt!

Those antebellum dresses are fairly akin to the clothes Noble Ladies of the Renaissance wore and I know for a fact that those ensembles can weigh 60 lbs or more.

mmaus - they had in glass display cases the dresses and other clothing from the movie, but the ones we tried on were replicas.

And don't get me started on the 19" waist thing...this is the mellow haven. Waist sizes are irrelevant! :D

OOOHHHH!!! I LOVE THE RED DRESS! :-D
I could probably only wear that dress on my leg. LOL

Simplicity has the "Curtain" dress pattern! There is also a website that sells different GWTW dress patterns. Me "wantsa".

I wanted to watch GWTW so badly this weekend but my daughter isn't quite old enough to appreciate it. She loves the outfits, but doesn't really understand the rest.

I'd also love to guzzle some bourbon, too. Rough week. Friday is my son's "Psych" evaluation :-( I think I'm going to have to go back on Prozac. But for now, it's juleps! LOL

ROFL! I felt the same way when I went to Stone Mountain. Funny story....

One of my co-workers took his boys to Stone Mtn. when they were little. They were looking at the huge carving of the Confederate Generals and Daddy was trying to explain about the civil war. An elderly, dignified woman was standing next to them. She just about passed out when one of the boys innocently asked, "Daddy, where's Mr. Lincoln?"

Well, thank you for the juleps last night. I slept like a baby. No heritage album dreams or anything.

Today I get to wait for my new washing machine to be delivered. The old one just up and died on Tuesday. It just kind of sighed and started leaking water out the bottom :(

So, a mellow day is anticipated.

I thought the tents with the clothing and supplies was for us to look through, so we were trying on the hats, etc. No clue this was the general supplie for the "troops"

Aye yi yi - I was a "Damn Yankee" for sure.
